It was the exact same oline from last season.

Which is a gigantic red flag. For an OL that looked really good last year, there would've been some early NFL entrants had there been any true talent there. Two NFL RBs just made them look a lot better than they were. Sam Howell and Josh Downs were the entire offense this year.

Am I the only person that gets a hard on after reading this scouting report?

Nevertheless, being lean doesn’t stop Cross from being a violent and physical tackle who exudes competitive toughness. Finishing a play doesn’t always mean putting your man in the dirt, but it appears that the Mississippi State OT did not get that memo. Cross looks to punish his opponent every play, whether in pass protection or as a mauler in the ground game. Despite his lean frame, he’s powerful and displays a decent anchor in pass protection.

Alongside his physicality and violence, Cross brings elite athleticism to the position.

Enough of the bullshit.  Stop being silly and get this dude (or someone comparable) and let him anchor the left side.  Damn I want a dog at LT

Keep in mind his "lean" frame is at 305lbs and projects to add another 10-20lbs of muscle.  Godalmighty lets do this

I don’t care who was blocking, they couldn’t hold their blocks for whatever reason. If they have proven they could in the past and now can’t, there is a coaching/development issue. (Example) If you have a Pro Bowl LT and he allows 5 sacks, him being a Pro Bowl LT doesn’t really matter as he failed to do his job.

Two NFL RBs helped make Sam look great too.

Replace Howell with any other college QB and UNC is worse. He put up very good numbers in the bowl game last year against the best D in the SEC without both RBs and his #1 WR. What really hurt UNC this year was no other WR outside of Downs stepping up. Downs was able to replace Brown in the bowl game last year. But one receiver just isn't enough. Once teams figured out the could double Downs and spy Howell the going got really tough but he still kept the Heels competitive.

It's easy to tell the folks that didn't actually watch the game but still want to try to talk.

You say stuff like this but then you are implying that the national scouts and whatnot are not doing a deep dive into his career.  For the most part he is being projected as a borderline first round pick and around the 4rth or 5th best qb in the draft.  These guys have watched him, they understand the nuances of his team, you are not letting us in on some big secret.  Yeah man he has talent and will probably start at some point in the nfl, is he worth the 6 pick in the draft and are you hitching your wagon to him for the next 4 years to jumps start your franchise.....hell fuging no.

I don't really have an opinion one way or the other on his pro potential. Just stating 2 NFL RBs helped him, you can't argue that, they did help him. One bowl game sample size, meh.

You and your "unbiased" Howell bat signal. LOL!

    • https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2024/06/bruins-hurricanes-could-swap-linus-ullmark-and-martin-necas.html The Boston Bruins are continuing to garner more and more interest for their former Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender Linus Ullmark, giving them a chance to be picky about the return. That could exclude much of the league from acquiring the star netminder, with Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman sharing on The Jeff Marek Show that he doesn’t believe teams like the Vancouver Canucks or Montreal Canadiens have the assets to acquire Ullmark. Friedman added that the Carolina Hurricanes could be one of the few teams rich enough for the deal, especially if they involve forward Martin Necas. https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/carolina-hurricanes Expect the Maple Leafs and Predators to be two of the top suitors for Hurricanes defenseman Brett Pesce if he hits the open market next month, The Fourth Period’s David Pagnotta reports.
    • They do, just when. I hate to be pessimistic but it’s all about the QB. I can’t recall a QB situation where a bad QB (not bad stats, but looking like they don’t belong) turned a team around. Peyton Manning had a ridiculous amount of interceptions but he didn’t show his future limitations. Usually, it was picking another QB in the draft. Unfortunately, IMHO, we won’t be really better until we get our Cam v2, someone who can carry the team and not win only if we have a stud lineup around him. That’s why I’m more interested in how the rest of the draft picks do to see if we can actually solve holes like the ones we created losing Olsen, CMC, Moore, Turner/Kalil/Norwell, etc. I want to actually be one QB away not Fitterer’s definition of one player away.
    • I will say once you have been in newer arenas and stadiums with their way better bathroom set-ups, it is such a massive improvement. It clears up a lot of insane lines just waiting around to piss.  I have taken to not drinking at all at older stadiums just so I don't have to deal with planning when to take a piss and what part of the game I am gonna be forced to miss because of it. It's so nice to be in a new arena/stadium with way better bathroom accessibility that doesn't force you to literally miss the game. Not to mention I will actually spend money on booze there then.
