If you want something to smile about this morning, the Patriots got jacked up last night.

I didn't get to see much of it (family thing) but from what I've read, it was bad enough that Belichick got a little heated in his presser (among other things, some of his coaching decisions were called into question) 😆

Believe it or not, this is actually Panther related as well. How so? Well, if you're a fan of Matt Eberflus, last night's game was called a signature statement for his resumé when the next head coaching interview cycle (which hopefully includes us) gets going.

And ironically enough, one writer pointed out that Eberflus was originally brought to Indianapolis by a coach who never actually took control of the team, but was then retained by Frank Reich when he got the job.

That coach was, of course, Josh McDaniels.

I legit forgot we even play a football game today. I'll be honest....this is a good feeling for me. I wish they were better, but my day is not revolving around the Panthers which definitely helps my mental health. In closing... please fire Matt Rhule or I'm going to lose my freaking mind. Don't worry.... I'm stable.

Wentz has played pretty well this year, which has definitely helped the Colts out.  It was obvious last year everything was in place except the QB.  No, he wasn't good against the Pats.

I think it's a little much to be celebrating their defense.  The bottom line is that the Colts give up 21.4 points per game.  Good for 8th in the league . . . just ahead of the Panthers in 9th (21.7).

And they say a good defense can't carry a struggling offense.  BS, that's the reason stats don't tell the entire story.  While our defense is top 5 in most categories, it's not as good as it would seem just looking at defensive rankings.  Our defense is mediocre and the reason they can't drag our sputtering offense across the finish line every so often for an occasional win.

The Colts still gave up 300 passing to Mac Jones, but held them to 17 points.    The 'bend-but-don't break' mantra  really does have merit.   Our defense is just the opposite, kinda like a levee--holds strong until the pressure is too great and then fails horrifically.

      I do believe that Evero gets canned before the end of the season and Capers takes over the D. I think the stage is set for Evero to fall on the sword for a 4-7 win season.  Not saying it would be a set up but I do think if that transpires, the seat under DC might start getting pretty warm, rightly or wrongly. That's my read on Tepper. I am not at all excited nor am I dreading anything. I just have extremely low expectations so I am just waiting to see what this revision of the roster looks like.  I FEEL like we are better on paper than last season's team but I wouldn't be remotely shocked if we were as bad or worse. Again, I do think this is the 2nd worst roster in franchise history overall. What will really make me happy is for some of the big questions to finally be answered(Bryce, Ikey, Horn, etc). I would like to see a real expansion of our core player pool(basically just D. Brown currently). I want to see a couple of hits in free agency and a couple in the draft. If we accomplish those things, I have faith that we are at least moving in the right direction after many, many years doing the opposite.

      I am not so sure about that. I don't know that he is so soley offensively focused as winning focused. But, not really in a productive way. I get the impression he wants to be like Robert Kraft and take credit for "taking a risk on Bill Belichick" and being successful.  His track record indicates that in the NFL and in his business life.
