Sam gets worse every year.  That’s where letting him work on it gets you.

Worst starter for 4 years in the NFL.   You somehow need 5.

I mean it is a fact the dude never had an OL yet.  Never

I am not disagreeing with you as my first thought when I heard we were considering him was “turnover machine”.  Pretty much gone that way.

His inability to make the correct read on obvious plays is way more worrisome for me

He had a OL at USC.  Yet nothing but fumbles and INTs.

And he had time in NY where the OL play wasn’t disastrous.  Everyone tries to define his NY career as all being like his final year. It wasn’t.

Sam can’t read a field.   Can’t stay in rhythm and go throw when he should Z Giving him time leads to disaster too.  Basically all be can do is dink and dunk.  Ask more of that and Sam does Sam things.  Always has.  Always will.

I am with you here.  I don’t see anyone saying he is the answer at this point

Well, the GM/HC still seem to be rolling pretty hard today towards Sam.  And as noted in the presser, they were different with Teddy at this time last year.

They may have also realized telling the world you're moving on from someone hurts limited trade value lol

The fact they've already talked a bit about Pickett suggests nobody thinks Darnold is their long term answer.  Fitt even talked about they believe in Darnold but are still gonna look at QB in the offseason. Not what you said when you're committed to your starter tbh.

It can be fixed. Tiki Barber went from hands of Crisco to hands of glue after one offseason. Not saying I want to keep Sam, just that it can be done. Thanks fantasy football for useless facts stuck in my memory.

Adrian Peterson also had a huge fumbling problem that he got a handle on later in his career.  But being Tiki Barber and Peterson, who is a GOAT level talent at RB and being Sam Darnold are different.  I don’t think he’ll be able to do it.  Maaaaaybe, but when the bullets fly and huge dudes are charging at you, he’s just going to revert back to same old Sam.  He doesn’t have that factor to him.

Naw man…Teddy wasn’t it man

Yes, I know.  Just like Sam isn’t.  And Sam is much worse than Teddy.

but Teddy wasn’t our QB this season.   So why are they forced into Sam next year.  Teddy was under contract to be the dude this season.

They rolled the dice and came up empty.  Colts did the same with Wentz (who cost a first) and in some ways the Rams did so with Stafford.  Giving up 2 firsts and a third?  They better win it.

    • It would be nice to see #9 prove people like this laughably wrong. That's why many Panthers fans myself included were wanting to see how much time he'd dedicated to his craft following the conclusion of the season but then he showed up and let everyone know he pretty much crawled under a rock. Somehow the Panthers social team though this was rather amusing after what we'd sacrificed for the rights to draft him It's interesting that we go from Levis being least desirable of the class and a complete and total meathead that would alienate himself from his teammates to being talked up as possibly emerging as one of the better young QB's entering the 2024 season. Man what a whirlwind the last 12 months have been for the people who fully bought the hype machine in the lead up to the 2023 NFL draft and did victory laps like they had their very own sports almanac from BTTF. Life comes at you fast folks.
    • You either need to do waaay more drugs or waaay less drugs, your current intake is not right. Sorry I can not advise on which path to take.
    • He's routinely a great watch.  Good content.  I like his optimism on Chubba in our scheme, allows us to bring in Brooks at an optimal pace relative to his recovery (who we got obviously to be our new guy, could become the focal point of this offense) The two news OGs will have no issue playing our offense coming from familiar schemes, one in Hunt being league top, is going to be huge for our running game more than anything.  I also liked him maintaining some optimism with Icky.   Seeing his page and commentary on our defense really puts in perspective how much turnover we have.  It should feel like a much different team (hopefully better) especially that front-7.  Jewell is going to be better than people expect, he was super unheralded for Denver and is just a smart closer who played against the Chiefs routinely well.
