Feels like Bama is going to bust a big play for a TD eventually.  They've had a few plays where the guy almost broke it.

With that Georgia D and their speed, it is probably easier to bust a long one than it is to score when you get down in the red zone and especially inside the 10.

Kiffin was the best thing to happen to Saban. He really got Saban to evolve his offensive philosophy. Without those couple years, I don’t think Bama would have won its last couple championships.

I don't think Saban wouldn't have hired Kiffin unless he was already prepared to revamp his offensive approach.

Now Saban’s teams are all “Mike Leach at Texas Tech” offensively. I’m only slightly kidding.

It's where the game is going. The college game has been driving the innovation in the sport for the past 20-30 years. The NFL takes the concepts and refines them, but all this spread shotgun poo that every NFL team runs comes from the college game.

    • Several factors there with an assortment of possible candidates Those two, way too stubborn and strong willed to control.  And I think they had enough demand that they could ignore some possibilities that didn’t look great to them.  Maybe, just maybe, no one wanted to try and run an offense with Bryce in the QB spot.  I know there are a few that think Bryce is the man, stan, but that being a condition of employment would be a strong deterrent for a lot of people.  edit: especially coming off of the insanity and failure that 2023.
    • That's what I was meaning keep him as HC but get a proper playcaller in here
    • We are fairly secure at TE--void of a superstar--but the cupboard is pretty bare at ILB, C, (suddenly) WR, and Edge.  TE would be a luxury we cannot afford.  I think the pick will be ILB or Edge-- If we go after a TE, it makes more sense to do it in free agency to me. based on the way the boards I follow look right now,  it sure looks as if trading back and getting an ILB and Edge later is a plan.  However, I do not rule out a third first-round pick at WR--for example, if Lemon falls to 19--the Panthers could pull the trigger.  Imagine a WR room with Tmac, lemon, Coker, Horn, XL--that would make Bryce better.  In round 2, an Edge (there is some value at Edge in round 2. Sleeper Edge:  Caden Curry, Ohio St. (3rd round?) If we wait until round 3 or later for ILB, I like Golday ( my crush right now--played OLB in college), Trotter, Rodriguez, Whitt and York.
