Look for big moves this offseason in free agency. Samir will be dishing out a lot of voided year contracts... and thats fine.

They will not be active in free agency.  Get that through your head. They are building through the draft. Repeat,  they are building through the draft.

Not enough draft capital to solely rely on the draft. Rhule will be forced to over pay in FA. And make trades to try and save his ass.

Why? We have 48 players under contract for 2022. We have 5 draft picks and UDFAs. Add in FAs that don’t affect comp picks (released, traded, post draft) and you easily fill the 53 and PS.

We aren’t forced to make trades or over pay. We can do that but we don’t have to, it’s based on whether we think we can compete again or not. We couldn’t in 2020 and 2021 but we spent like we could and wasted draft picks like we could. We ended up 10-23. Hopefully, they realize we need to suck it up this year and use our draft picks to start the fix (with luck and player development we could) of our biggest problem, the OL, and save everything we can for 2023+/the new QB.

After the 1st round, we don't have another selection till the 4th, barring a trade down. Imo you can't count on those late rounders to help make an immediate impact. Which RHule will need to help him stay employed here. And if I had to wager, they take Pickett in rd1 giving Thule ties to him and Teppers ties to Pitt panthers.
