Yikes so probably $10m a year for a 30 year old tackle who's only healthy for like half the season? Sounds like a Rhule move

We might have to pay him more than that! FAs aren't going to want to be coming to Charlotte right now. We are not going to be able to get people to come here unless we offer them more than anyone else...maybe a good bit more.

He is hurt and the contract projections are roughly 5 years 90 million.  Could be closer to 20 per year.  I give up if we sign him

 

Armstead is on pace to receive a large payday. Spotrac has his market value set at four years worth $95 million. This is the reason why the Saints should stay very far away from their cherished left tackle this offseason.

Giving a soon-to-be 31-year-old a four-year deal worth near triple-digits is a recipe for disaster. At the end of his contract, he would most likely be the oldest tackle in the league and while there are rare cases where older tackles can still play an elite level, it typically doesn’t work out well for teams who try to test this theory.

What type of logic is that if we traded back and someone grabbed the guy we wanted.  If we are going QB we are going to stay and get our top choice

I really doubt we pay big $ for Armstead or any other FA OT. I think we draft a LT (at 6 or after trading back, hopefully not too far back) or we roll with Brady C. backed up by Cam Erving or another FA or young T prospect we bring in. We just can't afford a big splash in FA.

Bouye has some trade value.  I didn't really see much promise in Henderson, but maybe he'll start to put it together next year.   I'd love to see Gilmore stick around on a decent deal, but can't imagine anyone wanting to stay with this team.

We have a star in Jaycee, and good depth with Taylor, Stantly, and Hartsfield.  I like AJ but I'd take a 5th for him in a minute.
