Charlotte “unlikely” to contribute taxpayer money for new Panthers headquarters

Oh, I don't think they're disappointed with Tepper. You think they were begging for someone who would come in and build a football organization that would kick their ass? 😂

Fair point 😕

He took a team that was at least competitive sometimes and turned them into a perennial doormat.

The other owners probably appreciate the extra wins they get playing his team.

💵 💰 on hand and some sort of contrived "net-worth" number are two completely different animals...

...there was one thoroughbred 🐎 in the race...

...and a whole bunch of 🦨 🦨🦨... 🤣

The other "bidders" didn't have the funds to close so what they may or may not have bid is not relevant...

...there was only one legit bid with funding in place & ready to close 🐎👊.

Why do you love Tepper so much?

Rubin since bought ownership stakes in both the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils.

Nonsense.

He owned stakes in both prior to trying to make a laughable and ham-handed pass at the Panthers 🤦‍♂️.  He did slightly increase his stake in the umbrella company that owns both but is not in a control position of any sort.

He also sold a company he founded for more money than Tepper paid for the Panthers.

True or otherwise, this assertion is 100% irrelevant to the 🐎-race for the Panthers in 2018.  Did he get green 💵??

As far as thoroughbreds, if Robson Walton buys the Broncos (very real possibility) he's going to become the new richest owner in the NFL.

Whoah Nelly 🤚🖐️✋...I thought the other owners had already teed-up Byron Allen to buy that team?  Is this no longer the case?

His net worth makes Tepper look lower middle class.

So what? Do you have a point?

1 hour ago, Mr. Scot said:

That the NFL is courting him is probably a good sign they realize David Tepper isn't what they hoped he'd be.

If Byron Allen is no longer the presumed front-runner I thought Robert F. Smith would be next to be "courted"...what's up with that?

As for Walton and Tepper -- I fail to see the connection?

Please explain how the NFL bringing Walton into the fold would somehow indicate the League (owners & Commish) have come to the conclusion allowing Tepper to buy a team was a bad idea?

Tepper is such a great owner we have to go back to the Panthers before Tepper to draw on successes that weren't Tepper's to attempt to manufacture an argument that Tepper hasn't turned us into a doormat. 😂

In the Tepper era, our 22-43 (33.8%) record puts us at 5th worst in the NFL during that time period. Worst in the division. Third worst in the NFC. That's pretty doormat-ish.

Jerry Richardson took an expansion team that was built from scratch to within a game of the Super Bowl in it's second year.

David Tepper took over that same team with it being much better established and coming off a Super Bowl just three years prior. Under his direction, the team hasn't so much as managed a 500 season.

Now the NFL looks down on Tepper as basically everybody's b-tch and they're looking to bring in a much richer owner who might actually be able to field a good team given how the Broncos are set up.

Face it, dude. The guy you worship is a laughingstock.

Answer the question. Ask me questions once you answer it.

I'm squarely against Tepper on a number of fronts...

...absolutely 100% do not think he should get a penny of tax-payor funds to renovate/build stadiums.

It's as simple as right vs. wrong...I believe in right (or the truth if you will).

And you?  Prefer to wallow in hyperbole and #fakenews?

    • No lie… to this day, and forever, I’m always still gonna love me some Ted Ginn.  I tell people all the time who aren’t Panther fans so they don’t know - Ted legit was our best receiver during Cam’s tenure here.
    • That game made me resign from my position as HC of UNC in my solo football dynasty on NCAA26.
    • Nah, what he did in Cleveland was damn impressive.     ain’t no way in hell we (it’s my alma mater) should’ve looked like this tonight.  That was piss poor coaching and piss poor playing.  Like they said, for both teams, this was a similar setting to when TCU played Colorado when Deion was hired.  TCU coming in to play a game against a super famous football celebrity figure with a completely overhauled roster - difference is, Colorado played up to the moment.  We just folded like a cheap lawn chair.  I was joking during the game with friends, like they really watched a whole summer of Gio and Max and decided Gio was the starter?  Hell, I bet Bryce Baker as a freshman is better than Gio.  We hyped that signing of Gio like we just won the fuging lottery, and he is complete ass.  We spent two quarters desperately not trying to throw the football - I don’t know if it’s because he can’t or what?  But there was no excuse for that.  It felt so much like the Rhule years here.  I haven’t seen such a dysfunctional offense since or before.  And then the damn defense…. I asked my friend if they just brought all 70 new guys in from a lab that does arm and leg transplants because did these guys just receive their limbs and are figuring out how to use them???  Because I have never seen a whole team look so inept.  Diving early at feet and missing them entirely, getting trucked, flailing and falling everywhere, peewee league arm tackles, always looking a step slow…  no lie, whatever the worse I could’ve imagined that debut going, take that and make it 10 times worse and I never would’ve even seen THAT happening.  Absolutely no excuse for it.  None.  All the brand power and image brought with the Belichick hire, and that’s the best he could do in his debut.  They brought MJ, LT, and Roy out for THAT???  Man, I spent 7 years of my life living there and i NEVER saw or heard of LT coming out there during that time.  They actually got him coming around to watch THAT. Bill should be fuging embarrassed.  The fuging commentary booth brought a dog in and put a headset on him as Rece Davis said, “the wheels are off, ladies and gentlemen.”  As I said elsewhere - not under Mack 1.0, not under Torbush, not under Butch, not under Fedora,  and not under Mack 2.0, did we EVER look like THAT.  Never.  You bring in a guy that is considered one of the greatest football minds in coaching EVER, and we get shellacked and don’t even look competitive???  Boy I know the boosters are shitting fuging fireballs right now.
