Maybe he'll have a career season or maybe he won't even be on the team next year. It doesn't appear social media is great for his mental health. For whatever you think of him he has a knack for getting certain fans riled up and showing their true form 🤷‍♂️

Its not that for me, its his mouth to talent level ratio.

His mouth should be attached to someone like Adams or Hopkins, not a guy with one 1000 yard season and no double digit TD seasons.

Everyone loved Smitty and he had twice the mouth but he also had the talent to back it up.

He had a dreadful season no doubt. But if we are going to drag Smitty into this let's keep it real. RA has had to play with Sam Darnold multiple seasons and finally thought he got away from him in Carolina. If 89 had to play multiple seasons with Jimmy Clausen like his 554 yard 2 touchdown season in 2010 he would have blown his stack and we all damn well know that.

Its not like the rest of his seasons are all pro or pro bowl. The guy is an okay WR thats about it with a mouth the  size of Smitty. I cant say he has ever had a great season, he has had some okay years and last year.

Smitty was an all pro borderline HoF guy, Robby is just an okay WR.

Not comparing their talent just looking at the situations they faced at certain career points. Say what you will about Jake Delhomme but he had a passion for the game and was clutch at times and Steve Smith started his career with him he could have done a lot worse. Sam Darnold has been one of the worst starting quarterbacks of the last ten years and is the same QB he was at USC. He's been so bad people have even been dogging on DJ Moore like he's subpar. Let's see what this group looks like with a quarterback that isn't a panicked mess even from a clean pocket and go from there. If RA truly isn't good he won't be here much longer time will tell.

I would expect RA with a good to great QB to be a 800-1000 yard guy with 5-7 TDs.  I still dont think he would be a dominate force at WR by any means.

His yardage with Teddy was around his top end, but TB didnt throw TD passes.

Yeah I'm not arguing he's going to be a dominant take over games wideout that should be DJ Moore considering expectations. Though in truth we have not had a consistent deep passing game in the last two seasons some of that has been the OL the rest has been the inability of our QB's to accurately get the ball there. But Teddy was right about our redzone struggles we didn't want to admit it at the time but our staff was not getting it done and we know that now.

Our staff has been ass the past couple of years, but Teddy was not going to be much better in the RZ regardless.

Hopefully our offense is not built solely around CMC this season. You cant keep doing that with a guy who has been on the sideline for the majority of the past 2 seasons. The rest of these guys need to step up, especially the ones with the biggest mouths.

    • Sure, but if that happens, the draft pick will look even worse for the Falcons, as instead of getting them a player that could win now, they took someone who ran off their prize FA QB after 3 years and now looks like they may be a bust. Penix was one of the more polished QB's in the draft and would have probably been a rookie starter if taken by someone with an uncertain starting QB, if he's not ready to step in and play well in year 3, then it's probably not going to work out. So the only way it helps their contract situation, is if it doesn't work out as they plan, but if it does, they're going to cut Cousins after 2 years and then have to give Penix a monster deal the following offseason.
