Nowhere in that report does it say he kept Matt Rhule to avoid embarrassment.  That's your tin hat obscuring your vision.

I think Matt Rhule sucks as a NFL HC and I think most get that.    Think my eye sight is pretty good in that direction.

Your source is awesome.

Yeah, when long time and known beat writers come out with something?

yeah, I generally think they have it nailed big picture more often than not.

and that same reporting said Rhule would get this 3rd season too.

Cool.  Then you should agree with your source when the article says:

Tepper seems to be very direct and straightforward.

Panthers could start 1-8, finish the season 2-6…and Rhule will still be the coach

This unfortunately. I do believe Tepper has stated he is getting this season and next and possibly one more after that. I seriously believe him when he said that and as much as I don't like Rhule as head coach I think we are absoly stuck with this incompetent narcissist for at bare minimum two more seasons which sounds absolutely awful to me. I'm still in shock Tepper said at least this season and next then added a possible one more. Puts zero pressure on him to do anything different at all and still be same old Rhule.

Tepper said Sam Darnold was a very good QB repeatedly right before the draft.

Tepper says things that aren’t true to the media and public.    This is not a unique concept.

*spoiler alert* Tepper does not think Sam Darnold is a very good QB

You're not arguing with me.  Now you're just arguing with the beat reporter who you "generally think they have it nailed big picture ".

So you've been railing against Tepper and Rhule from day one?

Neither, actually.

Was okay with Rhule in year one but it only took till about midseason of year two to confirm he was in over his head.

Tepper? Was ambivalent early on, waiting to see if he's be good or not. Then he kept Marty too long and followed that up by giving a mid-tier college coach full power.

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
