The only two rookies I’ve seen play was last Saturday. Howell made plays based on instincts, not being coached up… jeez man get a grip.

Hate to break it to you, but Panthers-Commanders was not the only NFL preseason game that was played this past weekend.

Malik Willis, Desmond Ridder,  Bailey Zappe and others played significant minutes in their games and looked, at the very least, competent.

What does that have to do with acting like Jimmy G’s situation has anything to do with PJ’s? That’s what you posted and that’s what I replied to so the rest of your post is your bias shining through. Jimmy G obviously wasn’t a team guy as seen even back in NE, so there is no reason for him to even be at practice.

If you say so 🙄

Lol, really? It was obvious he wasn’t ready. I hope he comes around but he had 0 poise telling me he’s going to need some time to be NFL ready. The barrage of rookies looking much better doesn’t make you feel good. If it’s coaching then we need to get to a point where we have guys who can actually develop a QB. I have zero faith that we do.

What’s amazing is the thought that you guys know he will be fine if only he got half the reps.

And of course, that can't possibly be anybody's fault but his own 🙄

Or maybe that thing about not having guys who can develop a QB (like, for example, a college head coach who's never really had to do that) yeah...

Maybe there's some validity to that.

I can barely make it through a Panthers pre-season game, I’m certainly not going to watch others play, because I could give two shits. All of these guys are playing off instincts and will take time to develop. You’re acting like Corral comes to practice and everyone ignores him.

Every other team with a rookie quarterback managed to do that while also coaching up their rookie.

Every other team doesnt have a new offensive system/coordinator, a totally new offensive line, a new qb and a clear qb and backup qb ahead of them.  Apples and oranges.

You’d think we were screwing Joe Montana outta reps…

So your opinion is, by your own admission, uninformed...

Okay.

More like apples, oranges and excuses.

Teams do this every year. Plenty of other teams have done it before us and done it successfully.

The primary difference between us and them isn't the conditions, it's that they had competent head coaches. We don't.

    • Of course, everyone has film. That is probably fresh in their mind though. Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division.  and if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
