This damn storm is moving so slow

In 1998 when I lived just north of ILM hurricane Bonnie basically sat at the mouth of the cape fear river for hours and my house was in and out of the eye numerous times that evening - made it tough to sleep - Florence was another slow mover - took about 48 hours for it to get in and out of here and I recorded over 26 inches of rain.  Those are slow movers.  I can take the 10 mph clip Ian is currently moving.

This is a visual so you can see what a 19/20 foot storm surge is. Water that can't be stopped.

The picture is of the Hurricane that have hit Wilmington/ Wrightsvile Beach.. You've heard of many of these. Most were Cat 1, 2 or 3 ,,   Only Hazel was a Cat 4/5 .   It had the 19 ft storm surge.   THIS IS WHAT HIT Ft Myers Fla.  It's devastating .

So  when Georgetown SC is hit ( or that area ),  thank if a 5-8 storm surge.  AND, High Tide is about noon today.  There will be damage. Probably not catastrophic ,, but it won't be pretty.

    • Herbert doing all that scrambling with that injury just seems flat out dumb. Doesn't help he's holding onto the ball way too long.
    • He had 3.3 yards a carry for 72 yards his last game against a Commanders team that was resting starters. His stats looked solid against the Eagles before that with 4.5 yards a carry until you realize the Eagles crushed the Cowboys 41-7 and he was getting chunk plays in the 4th when the Eagles were more than likely in prevent.  The game before that he had 23 yards averaging 1.8 per carry in a win against the Bucs.    Now keep in mind he only got double digit carries once the first 4 games and it kind of shows he can’t handle being a feature back all year long. I’m not hating on him or anything just don’t want to pay him when I think we can get similar production for cheap. Our running game lives and dies by our OL.
    • Now ND social media groups are floating the idea of whefher or not they should leave the ACC "current arrangment" due to this grevious offense of the ACC CFP rep actually pushing for ACC football teams to be included in the playoffs. These guys literally expected not only their personal CFP rep while every other team is relying on a general conference rep but they actually expected the conference they refuse to join foe football but use to house their other shitty teams they expected THAT rep to also lobby for them ignoring the teams that actual represent the conference in football. Absolutely unreal. This is how ND chooses to repay the conference that saved their season by letting them play a one off full conference schedule in COVID? I bet the ACC deeply regrets not using their leverage in that moment to tell them they're in or out. No more half stepping. Want a season? You're in. Demand on remaining independent? Fine. You don't have a football season and the rest of your teams can go find a new home. The ACC needs to get ahead of this and throw them out. Problem solved.
