Stroud... I hate OSU, but he has the better touch and build to last in the NFL.

If you were going to take an OSU qb they should have taken a shot at Fields last year. I believe the OSU qb curse but Fields has the best shot at breaking it. The only problem he faces is he landed on the wrong team. Stroud I fear will not.

We will know if Fields landed on the wrong team this off-season. They have 130 or so million in cap space to repair the defense and offensive line. On top of that they are drafting high in the first. If they trade back a handful of spots they can still take a #1 WR.

The Bears should be a team majorly on the rise in 2023 but we’ll see.

When have the Bears ever developed a qb?

They need to fix their line stat.  Ive watched the past 3 bears games and their line is probably as bad as ours was last season.

If I was a bears fan I would be pumped about the future, they just need to spend some cash and draft well.  I suspect they will have the chance to get the best tackle in the draft since the teams ahead of them will be focused on the qbs

I honestly don't care what the Bears do or really Fields for that matter because I'm a Panthers fan and Fields is not on our team. But I don't begrudge you being a fan so have at it.

Honestly, I'd stick with Matt Corral and see what we have there. Then spend the high draft pick on the top DE/Edge rusher in the draft and give our defense some teeth.

I think that's the safer bet.

I dont think I would call relying on a 3rd round qb that cannot even practice until august with a new staff and new offensive scheme "safe".

There is a ton of risk with picking a qb in the top 10 but at some point it has to be done

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
