Sam is on year 5. I don't consider him a young guy. We don't have anyone else other than PJ so that's pretty much irrelevant at the QB position. I'm just saying I don't care. Winning over NO doesn't change anything with regard to this franchise needing a massive overhaul. Putting yourself in a worse position in the draft just makes it a little harder.

He's 25, not 35.  🤨

And I don't care for purposely losing but if they start PJ, you just watch that they'll win anyway.   lol

5th year player in the league is not what I would consider a young guy by NFL standards. I'm not for purposefully losing but I am for playing guys who can get some evaluation in real game scenarios.

Just disappointed for another losing season.

You knew that we were in for another losing season the moment it finally arrived (a bit too late) that Rhule was ousted.

I'm just praying that whomever takes over has some clue on how to coach.

And can we please get an OFFENSIVE-MINDED Coach this time?

I'd be happy to start with a FO that realizes that the NFL is trending to more and more offensively high scoring games. They're more exciting, it fuels fantasy football, and in general, it makes for a better product on the field. Once we finally acknowledge that's how it's going to go, then we can look to find the people who fit that style of play.

Go look at tankathon. Winning next week will not drop us out of the top 10. Our weak strength of schedule helps us.

Yea, it looks like we could land anywhere from #6 to #10. Currently #9

So if that's true, then all the b*tching and moaning about how we have to lose next week is all for naught.

Also, if that's true, I want all the starters to play and for them to crush the Taints very slim Playoff hopes.

If we can't go to the playoffs, neither can they (even if their chances are more slim than ours were to begin with)

Saints have been eliminated.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
