It is not like we were making any noise in the playoffs anyway. Wilkes screwed us for personal gain, there is no upside. 

Not according to the crazies on here. According to them we not only could beat the Cowboys but may even make the Super Bowl. 
(They know who they are.)

This is correct. The best thing for the Panthers was not making the playoffs this season. I will never understand the logic those posters have, wanting to win meaningless games instead of getting better, perhaps even franchise changing, assets in the upcoming draft. Whoever the five seed is would have killed is.

So the Panthers could, by your metric, go a decade of 170 meaningless games.

Following up: how much did a meaningless division title, meaningless playoff appearance and meaningless first playoff win in 9 years hurt the Panthers more in 2014, than a 5-11 record and the once-in-a-lifetime chance to change the course of team history by selecting WR Kevin White or DT Danny Shelton?

That is so stupid logic. Wilkes didn't try to win for his own benefit. He was hired as interim coach to win football games. He didn't screw anyone or anybody. He actually showed that our talent was better than we thought as players competed harder and did better under Wilkes. It clearly showed that better coaching will go a long way to improving the current team and there was no reason to start over or blow things up.

      After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.

      The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.

      I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
