It's just hard to say. Rhule was so awful. That first season gave me a little hope that maybe he was the kind of coach who could turn lemons into lemonade, then after that it was pretty much all steaming horse piss.

Fixed it for accuracy.

TMJ got a little better under Wilks because he actually got playing time. Ultimately he played like a 4th or 5th string WR, which would be fine if not for where we drafted him and what we gave up.

He still wasn't very consistent and I don't think he is a guy that will ever blossom into an elite WR. That's one of those "you have it or you don't" kind of traits.

In the end, we need some dramatic improvements in that WR corps, so drafting  good prospects should definitely be on the table, if not a priority.

I’m not ready to give up on him and Shenult just yet.. Let’s see what they do with real offensive mindset running things..

It's not a matter of giving up, you need to ensure you have a good roster. Along with that comes getting better at WR. It can't be DJ Moore and a bunch of guys that occasionally show up. We need another top tier WR.

I’m not against adding another WR at all.. I’ve been watching a few because we will try this add speed to that position at some point..

I had been saying for years that we needed a big center, and now we have one. But just because he played well doesn't mean we can't upgrade through the draft and save cap money. Bozeman is good but he lacks athleticism, and this can hurt us when facing a team that has the size and athleticism up front to beat him. Look a the Bengals and Steelers games. Bozeman struggled because although he's big and strong, the quickness firing out of his stance is lacking. They were beating him to the punch and had no problem with his size. He couldn't bully them and then it became who is quicker and more athletic.

What is my point in all of this? Yes I'd like to keep Bozeman, but the draft will have big centers who are better than Bozeman. Upgrading the position is not out of the question. We could certainly use a big center who is more athletic and quicker than Bozeman.

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
