Throw it up as a poll and see where we both stand

That's what I'm trying to tell you. Any assessment of Corral vs Fields until there is a sample size is futile, conjecture, foolish talk.

I will stand by saying Corral has a larger skill set, is also a good open field threat(too brave, trying to truck LBs, he did OK) and a much more accurate QB, just as good throwing on the run on broken plays. Better touch on the ball. Dare I say more zip from what I saw from MC in camp at least equal.

Nobody knows about Corral in real game NFL minutes. He's a well insulated, coddled and bubble wrapped ?mark.

This is how it always goes. Teams are trying to give the Bears the impression they’d be holding the bag waiting for a trade for Young and keeping as much of a poker face as possible. When the balls start flying in private workouts and at the combine, all that goes out the window. We don’t even have a consensus 1-2-3 yet between Stroud, Young, and Levis. Houston has the easiest shot to move up for a few picks. Carolina will have to offer substantially more future value to get the Bears to bite on 1st to 9th. Again, a lot depends on how these kids work out. If we believe our guy is the 3rd ranked guy, we can stand pat and see what unfolds in the run up. It’s not impossible to get our guy outside the Top 5, especially if Levis is our favorite. We could move to the 6th or 7th and offer some certainty to those teams their defensive guy will still be there at 9th. But I would imagine that the QBs worth taking early are going to bunch up in the Top 5 and we will have to pay someone’s price. I think we can get that done with only 2023 picks with as many shots as we have Top 100. If we need to get back in the mix for a TE on Day 2 we can do it with 2024 picks and be alright.

However, if we get a faller for some reason we are right in range for him. I don’t know if Bryce will test well enough to answer questions about his height and those are significant. People act like it’s a no story deal but it matters. Stroud will have to test well in athleticism and consistency. Levis doesn’t have the resume but has the arm and the stature. His mobility will also matter. As will his ball placement and decision making. He’s going to have to win in the film room with a lot of teams. My early order is Young then Stroud and then a slight gap to Levis and that can entirely flip based on testing. I think we will be appropriately aggressive considering our ambition to win now with a defense that is a few guys short of elite.

Aside from the Gettleman years we have largely crushed in selecting great players in round 1. Hasn’t done anything to help us since we haven’t had starting caliber QB since Cam.

3 first are absolutely worth it if lands us a franchise QB. Now if you don’t believe that QB can be had in this draft then that’s another story.

Also I’d be opposed to trading Burns or D.J Moore. Moore has put up incredible numbers with terrible QB’s tossing him the ball. Burns has quietly done a hell of a job being a great pass rusher for us and without him we’d be depleted in that department.

I love jokes. Not funny when there's no element of Truth.

What's funny will be when Corral finally plays and shows a the self hating mouth breathers around here, what's really up.

The fact Fields is even being discussed should tell you something but you hate Corral and think the Bears QBs are legit...

Are you related to him?  Because I’m really starting to get that vibe.

How long have you been here? Me? Since panthershuddle.com.

Its highly unlikely. I'm a Panthers fan, Cub fan, Bears fan and a fan of the downtrodden, the underdog...

The ones they (you) doubt like the Golden One.

    • I’m honestly not trying to argue with you or talk bad about Scourton, I like him and I’ve watched all of his Purdue stuff/videos you linked previously. Just like I’ve watched all of Princely’s Florida stuff I’m only pointing out the weight thing because I’m excited about the idea of him being 255-260 and being more of a stand up edge here in Carolina like he was at Purdue versus at A&M And like you, I have a crap load of experience doing the whole cutting/weight/fitness thing and I know how crappy/sluggish I feel when I’m holding as little as an extra 8-10lbs of unnecessary weight. So for Scourton to come out and say he’s 255-260 now and feels good that’s exciting based on what he’s put on film at 280 and not feeling his best
    • I hate seeing this. I'm not sure he was ever going to make it in the NFL without the injury but that injury knocked FSU out of the college football playoffs and cost him and them and opportunity on the biggest stage in college sports. The injuries are the worst part of this game. They've created a nearly unending list of "what ifs". Hell, every HS, college, and pro team out there has a long list of them. It's also a good reminder that there's no such thing as a routine major injury. Even though sports medicine has improved dramatically in recent decades, major injuries are still somewhat of a coin flip on how a guy is going to emerge from it.
    • I don't know what Texas A&M was doing with their edge rushers. They had two freaks in Scourton and Shemar Stewart and yet instead of turning them loose they asked them to play 20 lbs overweight and just set the edge. That's full-on coaching malpractice at any level. Much was made about Shemar Stewart's lack of sack production, but while he wasn't my favorite prospect this year a lot of that was clearly what they were asking him to do. The good news with Scourton is that, unlike Stewart, did manage to be a huge factor as a pass rusher despite this and despite playing 20 lbs overweight. If he can stay around 260-265 it should help him re-gain some of that explosiveness from his Purdue days.
