Great attention to detail. I did lol when he bumped that huge player and told him to get out of his way! lol

The fact that he was actually a good returner will be a low key bonus. Having coaches that can actually demonstrate proper technique is huge. I think Campen was the only coach from last year that had legit experience as a player

I don't remember a time where almost each position coach gets their own press conference. Maybe Tepper is showing off to the league how good his staff is with these press conferences.

Hope we get a McCown presser at some point. Had no idea he played his last game/first playoff game with a torn Hamstring.

To clarify, everybody who spoke this week has an elevated title above the level of position coach:

Brown - Offensive Coordinator

Evero - Defensive Coordinator

Caldwell - Senior Assistant

Capers - Senior Defensive Assistant

Staley - Assistant Head Coach

Basically the executive level of our coaching staff...minus Chris Tabor who, as the saying goes, needs no introduction.

Whether any of the individual position coaches will also be giving press conferences or not? My guess would be no, but I suppose it's possible.

I should throw in that while he also doesn't need to be introduced to us, I'd love to see a James Campen presser. But to be clear, I want his remarks to be delivered in the form of a wrestling promo 😄

(we already know he's familiar with that style)

Campen had one last year. Suppose they might decide to wait til we have a couple more QB's so the questions aren't just grilling him about who's going to be our QB lol.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
