So D.J gone..need WR's badly

Currently, the league has a wide receiver deficit. They cost first rounders to trade for, are the second highest paid position group in the league (last I checked), and are being over drafted yearly. Six receivers were selected in the first 18 picks of last year's draft.

It's not going to be as easy as people think to find one without being lucky. We have to start taking shots this year.

Saw Panthers staff was at Odell’s workout today… I am sure he will want too much and be on playoff ready team to get another ring.. Hopkins maybe but I don’t think he’s a FA.. not sure who’s available currently.. saw Bears is taking Moores salary too.. so might give us wiggle room

I remember when Benjamin got hurt in 2015 and everyone thought it was the end of the world.  We had no other big name receivers and went 15-1.  Don't overreact guys.

Let's not start equating prime Cam Newton with a rookie just quite yet.

Generally speaking we want to put as much talent around a rookie as possible while they develop. It's the reason why Hurney brought in Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shockey to compliment the veteran Steve Smith.

Well you have to admit the free agency and draft haven't happed yet right?

We can easily replace DJ. He was overrated and not a #1. There will be someone with our 2nd round pick.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. I understand our fanbase doesn't give D.J. much respect, but around the league he's much more appreciated.

Keep in mind, I'm one of the few people that predicted that the Bears would want D.J. Moore in a trade, months ago. My reasoning then, is the same reasoning now that it's going to be difficult to replace him as receivers are a premium position that are difficult to find.

Receivers are now the second highest paid position group behind quarterbacks. They don't usually become available in free agency when in their prime, and when a trade happens it usually includes a first round pick(s). Receivers are so valued that 6 were selected in the top 18 picks of last years draft.

We can win this division with Stroud or Young with this defense. We damn near won it with Darnold.

I wouldn't say we are a rebuilding roster. If we offer him the most money I can definitely see OBJ coming here. I wouldn't offer him a lot though.

It would be awesome to have Odell… would be like when we brought Shockey and Keyshawn in.. don’t need to be full time players!! Be situational guys!

    • Yes, but those guys aren't depth guard signings, they're likely going to wait and see who has injuries or players under performing and then sign there. I also think that if Ickey really is going to be able to play at some point this year, that's where our guard depth comes from.  As if he gets to the point of being active, we'd then have 3 LT's on the roster with him, Freeling, and Walker, gotta think one of them not named Freeling gets kicked inside if needed.
    • lol imagine being Hill and this is what your coach thinks about you replacing a guy giving up over 4 goals per game.
    • I don't think Tyreek is a bad player to play with on the field, for sure not in the same way that Diggs is, as he's a cancer on the field with how he acts, and wouldn't take kindly to being 2nd fiddle behind T-Mac. It's that Tyreek is just a terrible person who realistically shouldn't even be in the NFL, his insane athletic ability is why his off field transgressions have been overlooked.  If he was a WR3, no team would have kept him around, it was only that he was a 1st ballot HOF level talent that kept him around. Just zero interest in having a person like that around our young WRs, that's really all it comes down to for me with him. Again, if we were true contenders this year, that changes things and I'd rather bring in the best possible players and hope it works out.  But they're trying to build something here and to do that, you need high quality people, not just great talent.
