Just for the sake of discussion, is there a correlation between size and injury?

If I was a gm and he came in for a visit his ass would be getting on a scale esp if my #1 pick and ultimately my job was on the line.

You damn straight. We don't have to publicize it. But you're getting on that damn scale if you wanna be the #1 overall pick. 😂

If he came in at his listed 195ish I'd breathe a sigh of relief.

Despite the data posted by OP showing otherwise, I’m glad Huddlers kept digging and reached the following conclusion:

So you still will not answer.  If there is no definitive height/weight for playing qb where are all the undersized qbs in the nfl?

How do you know he didn't get on the scale for the Panthers staff?

Perhaps the better question is....

How can I pass up on a talent that has overcome the typical size restrictions to be the best at his position at every level he's played to date?

One hit? Even Tua has played after some brutal head shots.

I mean I was assuming thats what your referencing because he wasnt hurt before or after that in the NFL. Got cut the next preseason when they decided to move away from the Wildcat stuff. Pat White as a QB wouldnt even be in the same discussion as Young, but he had legit rushing upside that they clearly thought they could exploit back when the wildcat was in fashion.

Why haven't there been more qbs under 6ft in the nfl?  This isn't hard bro

OK so according to this shorter QBs are going to be much less accurate and throw less TDs?  Again most QBs are going to fall into the 6'2" and over group so I think the data is going to be heavily skewed.

Correct and OP even stated as much. Even the article addressed that more research in that area was needed. That doesn't mean evidence exists that smaller QBs are at more risk. I think the obvious conclusion is QBs of all sizes have a risk of injury, and size, history, decision making, and chance will decide their fate. How heavily you weigh each of those factors determines which side of this argument you're on.

Because he'll be the smallest QB in the NFL. Start with that and work backwards.

Because they generally arent good enough to avoid the position swap that happens to guys that are athletic or small and aren't developing at the right pace. Its like what used to happen to more mobile QBs, and happens with Bigger Athletic QBs. There is a prototype for sure in the NFL and Bryce is an outlier for that, i dont imagine anyone is denying that.

    • You would hope so. I’m confused why the sports world seems split on Bryce when he’s obviously not working out.
    • So let’s do the reverse? Make everyone agree everything he does is a disaster? I also think the whole “gaslighting” is on the eye of the beholder. It went from he can’t avoid one single sack countered with he actually did that well Sunday (with data backing it) to a little breakdown of why he is so bad. People are going to have different opinions. I’m also not going to pretend this wasn’t happening Day one with this little QB.
    • All this great stuff he has done, how often does he do it?  I have it at three or four games out of 14 where he was very good and then you get a drive here or a series there where there are some good things. Here is the gaslight part: everyone has put him on a curve with his first year the baseline, neglecting to understand how bad he was then. Even if he comes back twice as good, where does that really leave him? 25th ranked or thereabouts.     He had so far to go, and still does, it is a Major ‘settle’ to accept his play as worthy of giving him our future.  You want to settle when the Bucs have Mayfield, and the Saints have overtaken us at QB? We will be third in the division at QB. That is good enough for y’all?
