Haener has been your guy for a while. I could see him finding some success in the league.

I followed him the past few years because people said he had R1 potential, and he made legit Sunday level throws and produced extremely efficiently.  Funny enough, the frame is the concern, just like the convo we're having re:Bryce, but he did have an injury to show for it.  His arm is also above-average at best, can't dispute that, but I see a guy who can easily translate.  The arm strength combined with frame is what puts him out of R1, but he's got a ton of poise, Fresno State let him call audibles and make a ton of presnap reads, lots to like.

Browns and Niners have shown the most interest so far.  Won't be a Panther though haha

I don’t think going after AR would be the team chasing Cam. The two don’t really compare, with exception to both of them being big guys.

If AR is knocking tests out that show he’s able to process quickly, and his whiteboard work is coming back exceptionally, then I see why Reich or whoever in the org would want him. I still want Young, but I would have no issue if he was made the pick. I’m fine with BY, Stroud, or AR.

lol what

You can see it on his tape really clearly. Guy navigates the pocket at a high end level, processes and makes decisions very quickly.

His issues tend to compound for how maddeningly inconsistent his base is pushing his accuracy all over the place and he can’t seem to change ball speeds throwing short.

Actually give him a shot and watch some film, there’s a clear high end QB in there it’s just gotta take time to develop. I do worry about that short accuracy though because that tends to stick around.

They don’t compare because Newton was in a different tier as a prospect. AR wasn’t even mocked as a first rounder until the media blitz.

I’m just not buying this hype. I watched him all year at Florida. He’s getting the same push Malik Willis got last year and I’m not buying it….no way in any draft in the history of drafts should he be remotely considered for first overall.

When you have Young scoring in the 90s, Levis scoring in the 90s, and AR "knocked it out of the park"--what does that even mean?

Listen, he could be great, but he hasn't been great yet.  I say the same for Levis.  Young has never been NOT great.

Discuss.😁

Seriously--nobody knows--but AR is a gamble because game tape does not have bouncing dots or white boards.  The combine does not have QBs throw vs. a rush and coverage.  So when all is said and done, go back to the tape.  AR could be great--and knowing that the Panthers are probably going with Young, it scares me because AR could be better one day--but not today.

Willis wasnt even in the same galaxy as him with things like Pocket Presence and Progressing through reads though. I understand why people want to push the comp but I'm just speaking from things I like in a QB and its also a reason I love Bryce.

Willis was an athlete with a great arm in a bad QB class, I get why there was hype people expect the NFL to draft QBs so assuming a few top guys go in the first and then conforming to that assumption boosted him. His tape showed a guy that wilted under pressure both in terms of pocket movement and throwing ability. Richardson had the best pressure to sack ratio in this draft class.

There are plenty of prospects at the top this year to not need a Richardson narrative, and I just think (No Offense just something ive seen a lot) that its a bit lazy to just say Willis and move on when they are really really different.

I’m not comparing him to Willis as a player. I’m comparing the media push to catapult them into discussions as a top 5 (and in this peculiar case, first overall) pick when it isn’t warranted.

An owner who wants to win now and a coach who’s going to have 3 years to do so isn’t going to take a guy first overall who won’t start until year 2.

I saw him with Steve Mariucci doing a white board chat and he seemed brilliant.  I think he is a career backup with starting potential in a few years.

Yeah thats fair, I guess I just feel like the situation surrounding Wills were a bit different with that class. I'm not trying to make you like him, I just think he shows he can process at a quick rate on tape. I'm very open that I think his accuracy issues are going to be his deciding factor and I understand why some people think it wont be as hard to fix as others, because I think he's got a clear flaw in his base that needs correcting. How accurate does that make him though?

    • It wasn’t completely his fault, but outside of two throws and one or two scrambles he didn’t do much to help. His accuracy was all over the place, numerous passes that were placed poorly and didn’t give the receiver a good chance to catch the ball or do anything with it after. He also continues to display terrible pocket awareness. Even the sacks could have been avoided, they weren’t immediate like the pressure we got on Shough at times. Bryce just often has no feel for pressure and stands there waiting to get sacked after numerous seconds have passed.
    • I really fuging hate this era in so many ways.  I look at those Adin Ross and Neon kids, and I just wonder why tf are they famous?  Why would anyone be desperate enough to gain THAT audience that they’d risk money, career, disciplinary action to go up there and associate with those fuging dweebs?  And back in my day, racist peers got their ass beat.  And not endorsing or approving bully culture, but checks and balances and all…  had those two been bullied, or at the very least humbled, they wouldn’t be famous and glorified for being the fuging idiots they are now.  It seriously pisses me off… they both have done and said multiple, openly racist stuff and major media keeps pushing them, talking about them, and propping them up… and then dummies like Puka who don’t need the platform or exposure lend their celebrity to them.  fuging idiot… and even the other streamers, I don’t get - Speed, Kai…  I don’t understand making nobodies famous at all, but there is at least entertainment value to some degree there, and I could see how young, impressionable kids would find them something to aspire to (sadly), or view as “cool.”  But Ross and Neon?  They’re just shitty, shitty nerds with big ass mouths. I’ve went back recently and watched some classics (in two very different eras and categories 😂)  like Robocop and Idiocracy.  And what I find fascinating is how both movies illustrate how stupid society became by showing what the citizenry is entertained by.  In both, society became anti-intellectual and the citizenry were entertained by lowest denominator, primal-type absurdity - poo like, “Ouch! My Balls!”  Or on Robocop, a guy is a watching a show where they are smashing cakes on ladies’ breasts and then a guy says a line as the camera zooms in like, “I’d buy that for a dollar!” and the audience thinks it’s hilarious.  That’s where I feel like we are now.  Like who watches that clip with Puka and thinks any of that poo is funny or cool?  If I was Puka, I’d honestly be wondering why tf I’m hanging out with these beta ass, racist, cretin ass weirdos.
    • 7 wins this year and some of those against really good teams and yall think Canales might get fired? Lol Good luck getting a better coach in here if that happens.
