Finally the rodgers saga is over. That dude desperately needs attention.

He does but how this has dragged on wasn't on him. That was just the Packers and Jets haggling over the details that everyone pretty much knew was eventually going to get done so there wasn't a lot of urgency to get it done until we were staring down the barrel of draft day.

Tepper has to be pissed about the timing though. This week was supposed to be all about his team and now the Rodgers news is gonna suck a lot of air out of the room with a team in the biggest media market in the country making a trade for a future first ballot HOF QB.

So many teams seem to want to trade back but don't hear much about anybody wanting to trade up. What's the deal with that?

Probably because they do their best to keep it quiet.

If you want to trade back, you want everyone to know so teams come to you with their offers.

If you want to trade up, you want to do it quietly so other teams who could be targeting the same position as you aren’t aware.

Nah, not really

Everyone knows we're taking Young and everyone has known about Rodgers going to the Jets for a month now.

24 hours from now nobody will be talking about Rodgers again until they see him at Jets camp, and nobody will care about our pick either because it's been known for about a week that we're going with Young.

The unknowns about #2 and onward and how that all plays out will be the story of the week and the main talking points come Monday morning as well.

You're gonna be surprised. Rodgers/Jets is gonna be a HUGE topic of conversation this week.

Yeah the draft this year isn't really all that much to talk about until guys actually get picked, and even then it's only going to be about the qb's and maybe Jalen Carter because of the character concern stuff

It will last 24 hours, then take a week or so off and come back with a vengeance in a week or so and then be the biggest storyline in the NFL during the season without question.

If this was out of the blue, then yea, it would dominate things, but everyone spent weeks talking about it when it first came out a month or so ago, nothing has changed since then other than the deal being official.

It's draft week, the draft will still dominate the NFL storylines this week, maybe not today, but by tomorrow afternoon it will be back to the draft.

    • That's mostly me. I came into the season basically believing he was not ever going to be the guy but with a little bit of wait and see. It didn't take long of me seeing before I saw he was the same guy he has largely always been. Maybe in some future scenario 3-5 years from now he is confident enough to be a decent NFL QB. I don't really want to be the team waiting for that to happen. Let his 3rd, 4th, 5th or whatever team be the ones that figure it out.
    • Naw let him get to Tampa and crack his old fragile body with Radsom or Trey M I’d love to see him get rocked by this raw defense. He’s a fool thinking he would leave us for greener pastures I’m glad it played out this way should’ve stayed loyal to the ones who really wanted you.
    • And a legitimate question to ask is what does this offense look like once Bryce is off his rookie contract? How is that offensive line going to look? We have a ton of money invested up front and that is 100% unsustainable with Bryce making starting QB money. Icky and Moton are going to be 50m per season plus the guards at 32 and possibly Mays at 6-8 if we're lucky. Add in Bryce and that's 125m just on those 6 players if we tried to keep them all. It's just not doable.  So then the real question IMO becomes, if we spent the money on our OL, and less on a QB, would the outcome be that much different? I haven't seen Bryce elevate the offense enough by himself on a consistent basis to warrant the contract we would have to give him, not to mention the players we would have to give up, based on the accelerations of the bonuses as I understand them, would likely include Icky.
