Because that was an obvious cross check but it didn’t have nearly as much force as the NYI would have wanted you to believe.

Those kinds of cross checks happen the entire game. Soft love tap. If we are calling that a cross check, there better be a penalty every other minute because that same type of check happens in front of the net and along the boards all the time.

This game is going the islanders way sadly. They want a chippy game. They want it to be physical. Hurricanes need to put another goal on the board and get the game back in their corner

Burns fully/nearly fully extended. That’s the only reason it was called. If he has been an inch or two closer it wouldn’t have been called on burns.
