Panthers’ Delhomme expected to sit Sunday

If this is true it is exactly what I said would happen. I said Moore would get this game and it may be his last chance to show he can score more than 16 points in a game. If he struggles again to move the ball it will raise a huge red flag which could signal a change again at QB unless Jake can't play due to his hand. Weinke got three games and Moore had 3 before and is getting three again. If he plays well for the first time this year and gets us in the endzone more than once, he will likely finish out the season. If not then he will likely be gone at the end of the year so there is no reason to groom someone who isn't going to be here anyway.

Such is the life of a back-up in the NFL on a team that isn't considered rebuilding.

I personally hope he has the game of his life. I will be right there cheering him on. I am a panther fan, unlike many others who either hate or love one player or the other, and hope we win every game remaining and that Moore really gets turned loose and shows what he can do. I don't have an agenda about who should be hired or fired but will let things play out as they always do. After all for those of us who have been panther fans since 95, we have seen players and coaches come and go. The constant is the team.

so if the Vikes, a top 5 NFL team, shred Moore while Jake sits we will be hearing all next week about how great Jake is and awful Moore is from the Jake lovers.

part of me wants Jake to start this game to put him out of his misery.

It won't say anything about jake. it will just confirm our worst fears that like Zod said, we got nobody on our roster who can start. I hope Moore is the real deal. We need someone who can start. I hope the last 2 games are just warmups and he will finally play well this game. One problem is that the Vikings secondary won't drop a ton of balls like NE did. They are getting Antoine Winfield back which won't help but after hearing him talk they said that they don't change the corners from side to side. Hopefully that means Smitty lines up on the right side all day away from him.

    • No doubt.  I was at the game watching it and it looked like a fly ball to the infield.  It got in the air and just hung up.  XL tracked it like a shortstop.
    • You need to go outside and get some fresh air.
    • Sorry, I don't get the "mental" thing at all. If his football IQ was as low as you say it is, then he wouldn't be out there blocking as well as he is.  It is quite possible that he's been pressing due to not really being in the flow of the game because Bryce doesn't look for him on the regular. His strength, at the moment, seems to be as a mismatch in the slot on crossers and slants in my opinion, and for whatever reason (maybe height) Bryce is more likely going to chuck it to the sidelines. So, in a sense, maybe Legette and Bryce aren't a good pairing, and that gives the appearance that Legette is not all there. Lord knows that Bryce doesn't seem to be able to hit receivers in stride so they can maximize YAC. But anyway...all that being said, I thought that X would be more than just a possession type of guy. So we'll see where it goes from here. I'm not like some, who appear not to see the value in a guy who can kill you like that, and kill you just as well as guys that do their best work on the outside, but, X is going to have to be able to consistently hands-catch on the run and separate better at the top of the route if he really wants to unlock his potential as an all-around receiver. If Bryce could consistently and accurately hit receivers, especially in seams on the slants and crossers, it would open up Legette and the offense. Just my opinion, but I think he causes all the receivers to press to varying degrees, and causes the coaches to call plays that have built-in limitations, but I could be wrong about that.
