Just ran the ball down Clemsons throat all 2nd half.  Yeesh that was impressive and crazy to see

just a weird game

Clemson won time of possession, yards (rushing and passing), first downs, 3rd down, penalties.

And got smashed lol

This gonna sound crazy but is Dabo on the hot seat right now after this one?

Probably a little with the fans.

reality is Dabo could run the wildcat and find a way to get close to 10 wins.   People are gonna do the Clemson bashing for awhile but it still won’t change the talent gap.  Every opponent isn’t going to get the results Duke did tonight when Clemson drives the field on them.

Clemson is going to win a lot of ugly games in the ACC.  Just like the last 2 years.  They aren’t title contenders.  They will be tough for virtually everyone not named FSU though.

An 11-3 season winning the conference championship and going to the Orange Bowl with a top 10 final ranking is a down year for Clemson. That's what Dabo has brought to Clemson. If they want to fire him all but a tiny handful of coaches in the country would be nervous if Dabo reached out to their program expressing interest.

UNC gone to the SEC in 2025, they put one foot out the door when NC state flipped the vote the other day.

UNC's foot has been out the door, they're actively trying to kill the conference just like FSU is. Just aren't as public about it. The point of the expansion is to have replacements for when UNC, Clemson and FSU jet for tv money. NC State actually decided to look out for itself for once, I respect it.

If you fire Dabo, there is basically a 99% chance you are going to do worse than Dabo.   Maybe greater than that, because the better coaches ain’t coming to Clemson.

I think he's lost the coaches that made him as good as he was and he hasn't been able to replace them but I do agree it would be silly to fire him. I just won't be surprised if it happens

If he reached out said he wanted to come to UNC, I'd tell Mack to make it a memorable one because you're retiring at the end of the season. 😂

How good will Notre Dame be ?
I know they can’t play for the ACC championship.

Duke won’t fair well due to their ACC schedule. They play Notre Dame, Florida State, UNC,  NC State, Louisville ( and Clempson) . They will win some , but not all.

I’d love that,, but Sabin is the same age as Mack and Alabama would come looking too

It's all moot because there's no way in hell Dabo is getting fired.

Well, Bama might not be moot. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if they didn't show up to Dabo's house with a blank check when Saban calls it a career.

    • https://wfnz.com/schedule/the-clubhouse-with-kyle-bailey/ Starts around 1100 I am not sure how connected Al Wallace is but he thinks bryce is going to get paid (50+) and it may happen within the first 4 games of this season.   He thinks the offense looked good last season.  Not really sure what the hell he was watching.
    • Waiting to see how the OT situation plays out is probably going to be a big part of the calculus.
    • If you draft players who can push the starters in competitions, then you have depth.  Gantt's focus is Week 1, 2026.  That is never my view.  if your focus is on talent alone, and if you do not consider the salary cap, then this is accurate.  If a player making $25m per season can be traded or not renewed because you have a player on a rookie contract who can do the job almost as well--before the maturation and experience occurs, then you may take a small step back for a moment so that you can leap forward later.  About Walker--LTs have done pretty well in Green Bay's system.  He is a good pass protector, and so is Freeling. About DT--they are often rotational.  Hunter will still play and he will improve with experience.  The WR field is not that crowded.  If you have 5 different WRs who can play, they usually do.  Hecht might have the best opportunity to take a starting job, and he is a fifth rounder.   So you look at the cap and the idea is to start as many on rookie contracts as possible.  Does that mean to start rookies day 1.  Nope.
