The NEW Inside the NFL

Airs Tuesday nights on the CW at 8p. For once, no cable subscription needed to catch "the show the pros watch"

It's definitely been revamped from the SHO version, which seemed to have gotten too full of themselves.

Epi 1 is covering the Super Bowl so far, and it's been good conversations.

The hosts need a bit more polish, but some of their convo has sounded less rehearsed and more player-to-player rather than studio analysts. One segment in, and what I thought would be a train wreck of new-to-TV people isn't so bad.

Chad Ochocinco is the elder statesman of the show

Chris Long, Jay Cutler, Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder round out the panel

Looking forward to what they'll do once the season starts.  Hopefully with commercial breaks, they can focus more on games and less filler talk like the previous versions resorted to.

Ryan Clark has one of the better podcast out there. I think Crowder is also with him. I like their interviews.

Explains why he seemed comfortable doing a walk-n-talk opener and leading the talks. Its definitely seems more podcast-like relaxed on the set.

If they're only going to have about 40 minutes to showcase 16 game summaries by NFL Films due to commercial breaks, that would be... uh... 2 major games @ 3 min each, 10 games @ 2 min each, 4 games @ 1 min... that will leave just 10 minutes of time to fill.

Totally doable

Week 1? Dove right into the Jets story at the top, no conversational filler. Nice to see the NFL Films editors are still good at their job. They did spend 15m+ on the MNF game, which may be a reflection on how crazy that game was rather than a regular situation

I’ve been down on ITF for the most recent Paramount+/Showtime seasons. But the CW version is a surprisingly decent watch.

    • I hear you but they are coaching to win the game. You start unnecessarily taking risks you introduce a few bad outcome possibilities.  His ball security is poor, to start with. And we had Nijman at ROT. A strip sack, an int, just a simple loss of the down due to a missed connection,  could change the outcome. You don’t fug with maybe throwing the game away just to practice stuff.  It’s coming. It has to be coming. That box will be stacked with players who can win the down, soon enough. Then I hope we see some of what you are asking for.
    • If you look at every QBs chart on the NextGen stats page, you will see Young pretty much threw more passes past the 10 yard line than any of the other QB's this week and he completed a higher percentage of them this week as well. The same goes for last week. He doesn't have the both weeks but he is in the top 5 both weeks. I don't know why everyone keeps griping about this subject. The charts show it simply isn't true.
    • I get what you're saying.  And don't disagree, but .... It's week 6.  I could see if it's week 13 or 14 and we're eliminated from the playoffs. By not watching, you missed a pretty epic game and finish.  The fun me and about 40 other Panther fans had at the bar far outweighs the frustration I have with the front office. And not trying to win for a higher draft pick isn't applicable to this staff.  They've proven whether we pick 1st or 31st they will most likely mess it up.  I also haven't seen any QB in college that is a no-miss pick this year. This post, and my positive spirit expires in 7 days when we lose at the Jets.  Haha.
