Well, this could get interesting.

Austin Ekeler after 34-36 loss to the Dolphins:

Our coaching hasn’t always been the best. Our play hasn’t always been the best. And when you have a combination of those, then guess what? You’re going to be inconsistent.”

Accountability is always refreshing. But when a player throws coaching under the bus, especially on a staff where the head coach is already on the hot seat, that grabs people’s attention. Ekeler also called out the players, but that isn’t uncommon. Staley and his staff already have their feet to the fire after that playoff loss to Jacksonville, where they squandered a 27-point lead. When a star player publicly shows a lack of confidence in his coach, the end is likely near.

He wanted an extension and is playing out the last year of his deal. It’s not surprising that he’d throw the coach under the bus. Pretty surreal he asked to be traded as well.

That said, I agree with Ekeler, Staley isn’t a good coach. He’s even gotten lucky in his dumb decisions. I think last year he went for it against the Browns and the Browns kicker missed a FG to win the game. Against KC they had a win before a couple dumb decisions. The Chargers have more than enough talent and don’t play up to their potential.

    • You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB?   bruh
    • Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.🤔) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner.  I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
    • And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for.    Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
