I don't think it is so much Moore being such a more superior athlete, QB, but what hasn't been discussed is how Matt rolls away from pressure most of the time instead of standing there like a sitting duck as Jake always did.

Now......was this by a new design in game planning, or is it that Matt just has that much more awareness? Who knows yet. If was new game planning then please Lord tell me why they couldn't have tried that with Jake long ago. Not to mention the screens, and little dump offs that Jake would rather eat the ball, instead of throwing it away, or dumping it off.

I really got so tired of just seeing poor Jake just standing there dancing, and getting dropped play after play.

Change is here......let's see what develops. :cheers2:

sack-fumble

Never said he hadn't lost the ball as of yet, and I KNOW you can't be seriously comparing turnovers between the 2.

All QB's turn the ball over every now and then, ALL......but 3-6 times a game average like Jake.

Get da fvck outta here.

He atleast knows how to roll away from it far better than Jake, and knows how to throw it away far better than Jake instead of forcing an INT or fumble for6. I don't think Matt has done that yet.

Don't go there.

portend is a sign of things to come.

it looked like a switch was flipped on in that game sunday. i really hope it was and that we have a QB that can do that a lot. next sunday will be a test for sure but so was this one and he did pretty well. i just hope he has williams/stewart/sutton all healthy and that the patchwork oline can hold off the giants D-front like it did the vikings.

still need to be finding a way out of the jake contract and working on getting another viable option for the short and long term in the offseason but if we can use matt as the standard for comparison for this coming year, i'm happy.

only problem w/ the Giants D is you can't roll away from the stud DE since they have 2.

Jakes contract needs to be restructured, and if that can be done, we would be fools not to keep him here as a backup unless something better drops into our laps.

Don't let your emotions blind you people. Jake is not starting material, but he could be a very dependable backup that atleast knows the system, no learning curve needed as would be a certainty if you bring in another backup. I'm not talking about him starting, BACKUP.

    • McConkey is such a better player than XL that it isn't out of the question that he'd have improved us by 1 win last year, which would have dropped us to 10th or 11th in the draft.  If we fell to 11th behind SF, they probably take him as they were heavily rumored to want him.  2 more wins and we fall to 11th or 12th, if we are 12th behind both the 49ers and Cowboys, then he's 100% taken by one of them. Also, drafting McConkey wouldn't have stopped us from getting Coker as an UDFA. So even if he was on the board when we were on the clock, I'm not sure we're taking him over a defensive player given how bad the defense was last year.  Part of why he was always the pick for me was that we had no legitimate long term WR option at the time, having McConkey changes that and makes going defense much more feasible.
    • Or a statue of him in a golf cart and you can sit next to him
    • I've said many times that if I had known in high school that long snapper was an NFL position I would have practiced that every day and did all could to get that contract. Sure the money is not starting QB level, but it is life changing and if you manage it right you and your kids will be set for life. Not to mention you have access to the highest level of medical staff. Plus, by rule, they can't hit you.
