williams and sutton out=goodsons chance...

Last chance?

Come on, who really expected the kid to see significant playing time behind Williams and Stewart? Sutton playing well and being able to return kicks only diminished his chances.

All this being said, I still think Goodson has what it takes to be a good back in this league, and I do still want to see him used as a receiver.

Plenty of players have come into the league with fumbling issues, only to fix them later. One Steve Smith comes to mind.

Last chance? Dwayne Jarrett has had three full seasons worth of chances and he's still on the team. Goodson has basically only played a preseason and he's already down to his "last chance"?

Thats a good point. Jarrett has stayed because he was worth a roster spot as long as he was cheap and on his rookie contract. Goodson will hang around as long as he is on his rookie contract and cheap. Someone else would have to take his roster spot away. And from what I saw, when he played, it was pretty good except for the fumbles. I think either way he will be in camp next year and competing for a spot. As long as he is one of the 53 best, he will get a roster spot.

A new coach of course would change everything though. It would be tryouts all across the board.

i said last chance because, im thinking were not going to have 6 active rbs(williams, hoover, fiamatia(however u spell it)stew, sutton, goodson) doesnt seem like a good idea to have those kinda numbers active week to week. as for jarrett's been on the rost because of the lack of talent we have at wr. rb talent is something we got alot of so the plates have full instead of vise versa.

    • Lol. The Texans are literally one of Bryce's six career NFL wins. WTF are you talking about?
    • Yeah, I mean it is a statistical fact and also part of literally a player evaluation. Winston has literally lost dozens of games in his NFL career due to crippling TO's. It's just who he is. Look, it's fun when those insane throws work and he is leading you back from some crazy deficit. But those success are rare. It's why his career GWD count is so low. He's fun but he is fundamentally built to lose games.  If you are talking about a backup QB, you are literally already losing in the first place. That's how you see a backup QB and that's overwhelmingly what they tend to do. Rookie QB's almost always benefit from veteran QB's. Same as literally any other position in the NFL. Why do you think that you so often hear that from the playera themselves? As for Bryce NEEDING one, no he sure as poo shouldn't this late in the game. But he also shouldn't have needed this fuging long to get his fuging footwork straightened out either. Yet here we are.
    • Comfortability is the primary reason. They don't want to hurt Bryce's confidence. But I say if his confidence is that fragile that healthy competition which makes everyone better is enough for them to keep making Andy Dalton rich then Bryce was never going to be the guy anyway. Give me the QB who sees the competition amongst his peers and uses it to take it to the next level. Instead we get the guy who comes out looking like a deer in the headlights against the Texans after we've done everything possible to appease him. Definition of complacency.
