Well the thread is going as I expected.

"The issue is this this this this this *lists off a dozen things* but it definitely isn't Bryce Young"

🙄

Not a soul here will say Bryce can’t be better. But if we’re dishing out blame I’m not starting with the 22 year old rookie.

Yup

because it has nothing to do with a LG that is absolutely SHATTERING every metric measuring pressures given up

Nothing to do with the TE being thrown through the air like I throw my 2 year old kid.

Not like Ickey politely escorting the defender to the backfield when he’s not getting a penalty

If Bryce was 6’2 and went to a Clemson or NC State and Ickey went to Bama.  You would think we would be starting Mike Remmers all over again the way the pitch forks would be coming out

this place is wild

Since when are rookies absolved? Especially since I've seen Mingo dragged and called a bust too.

Not from me. Nobody is absolving him. He’s a rookie and you’re expecting him to mask the poo storm around him. If we’re creating a list of things to blame he’s towards the bottom of that list.

Let's make it easy. We will move on from the blame game.

I'll just ask you straight up. We both agree Bryce Young has talent he has plenty of potential. But with what we know now. After seeing how all the top 3 QB's have perfomed to this point do you have any level of concern about Young's phsyical limitations?

“If that Midget was 6’3 and playing in a real NFL system under center.  Not that college shotgun crap for that midget.  This would’ve been a 10 yard run!”

No. That’s not his game. He didn’t run the 40 for a reason. I’m also not comparing him to guys in different situations. Dropping CJ in this offense ain’t going to have the result you probably think it does.

Well if your answer is no I am going to have to respectfully argue your judgment is clouded. Panthers fan or not he has concerns. We can live in reality or we can exist in fantasy land and play pretend.

As for CJ. I cannot say how he would be doing here neither can you. But the reality is his situation was supposed to be significantly worse. He's making those around him better the same as he did at Ohio State. Do you think they miss his arm talent there at all now? The proof is in the pudding my friend.

Maybe because the Qb you just drafted ONLY OPERATED OUT OF THE SHOTGUN HIS WHOLE COLLEGE CAREER.  Successful in college but in the nfl its different story to operate specifically out that formation.

But of course that would go against the playing to his strengths narrative.

Philly which was made known after we hired Reich, that our offense would be built like.

Ran among the most snaps from Shotgun.

last year the Eagles ran 88.73% of all their snaps from shotgun. (Which is half a pct more than what you stated Bryce has ran thus far)

Shanahan system in SF (which Houston’s OC came and stems from) runs among the highest pct of their snaps from under center.  Which is still less than 40% of their snap from under center.

This isn’t a scheme issue.  It’s a blocking issue.  Which the stats show and anyone with eyes can see.

    • I do believe that Evero gets canned before the end of the season and Capers takes over the D. I think the stage is set for Evero to fall on the sword for a 4-7 win season.  Not saying it would be a set up but I do think if that transpires, the seat under DC might start getting pretty warm, rightly or wrongly. That's my read on Tepper. I am not at all excited nor am I dreading anything. I just have extremely low expectations so I am just waiting to see what this revision of the roster looks like.  I FEEL like we are better on paper than last season's team but I wouldn't be remotely shocked if we were as bad or worse. Again, I do think this is the 2nd worst roster in franchise history overall. What will really make me happy is for some of the big questions to finally be answered(Bryce, Ikey, Horn, etc). I would like to see a real expansion of our core player pool(basically just D. Brown currently). I want to see a couple of hits in free agency and a couple in the draft. If we accomplish those things, I have faith that we are at least moving in the right direction after many, many years doing the opposite.
    • Considering our depth. Certainly kick the tires.
    • I am not so sure about that. I don't know that he is so soley offensively focused as winning focused. But, not really in a productive way. I get the impression he wants to be like Robert Kraft and take credit for "taking a risk on Bill Belichick" and being successful.  His track record indicates that in the NFL and in his business life.
