Looks like the NHL is looking into mandating neck guards due to the recent Adam Johnson tragedy.

Also, the Senators have to forfeit a future first round draft pick for their role in a voided trade that almost saw former Hurricane, Evgenii Dadonov, traded to the Ducks from the Golden Knights.

NHL wants to make them mandatory. Bettman put the puck in the NHLPA’s court. If they don’t push back we will see neck protectors next year, perhaps even later this season.

If the players push back sounds like the NHL will do the same thing they did with helmets, visors, etc. Any vet is exempt, anyone new is mandatory.

The biggest fan pushback I’m seeing is basically highschool, ncaa and up don’t require them so why should the NHL.

Huh? Why would they have to forfeit?

It looks like the Penguins organization is already mandating neck protectors for their AHL and ECHL teams and are highly encouraging their NHL players to wear them.

As for the Senators, apparently they traded Dadonov to Vegas and made no mention of his trade clause. Vegas then later tried to trade Dadonov to the Ducks but was alerted that he has a NTC and the Ducks were on it.

Woah… going all the way to the AHL for a coach.

Sounds like the GM and the HC got into it and the owner picked the GM… fans are pissed.

Glad we don't have those problems here.

The Don and The Bod have a mutual respect that makes for a pretty seamless working relationship.

Based off of interviews with Dundon, sounds like they have each other's back when it comes to ownership. I remember Wads make a few comments to the media during Rod's contract situation in support of his coach(es)!
