The Carolina Panthers have been abysmal at drafting Wide Receivers for some reason:

  • 2023- Jonathan Mingo | Round 2, Pick 39
    WR, Ole Miss
  • 2021- Terrace Marshall Jr. | Round 2, Pick 59
    WR, LSU
  • 2021- Shi Smith | Round 6, Pick 204
    WR, South Carolina
  • 2019- Terry Godwin | Round 7, Pick 237
    WR, Georgia
  • 2018- DJ Moore | Round 1, Pick 24
    WR, Maryland
  • 2017- Curtis Samuel | Round 2, Pick 40
    WR, Ohio State
  • 2014- Kelvin Benjamin | Round 1, Pick 28
    WR, Florida State
  • 2012- Joe Adams | Round 4, Pick 104
    WR, Arkansas
  • 2011- Kealoha Pilares | Round 5, Pick 132
    WR, Hawaii
  • 2010- Brandon LaFell | Round 3, Pick 78
    WR, LSU
  • 2010- Armanti Edwards | Round 3, Pick 89
    WR, Appalachian State
  • 2010- David Gettis | Round 6, Pick 198
    WR, Colorado State-Pueblo
  • 2007- Dwayne Jarrett | Round 2, Pick 45
    WR, USC
  • 2007- Ryne Robinson | Round 4, Pick 118
    WR, Miami (OH)

You'd think just drawing names out of a hat would produce better results than this list.

I had forgotten all about Ryne Robinson.  A couple people were really high on him here.

Top 5 in the league in REC, TDs, and top 10 in YD.  If you had told me before week 1 that that's what Adam Thielen would be doing I would have never guessed we'd be winless.

we lead the league in pass attempts for some reason

We're third. Jaguars and Saints are ahead of us. Despite all those attempts we are 31st in the league in YPA. Brutal.

Result of having the worst starting guards in the NFL (due to injury) and no downfield separation.

The oline has been an issue for 3 years now and should get Scott Fitterer fired. But Thielen and Chark are not as bad as some are constantly suggesting. The Commanders have given up the most sacks in the league at 34 yet they are middle of the league in YPA. We've only given up 19 sacks. The Falcons Broncos Saints Jets Titans Bears Giants and Commanders have all given up as many as us or more. Out of all of them only the Giants are tied with us in YPA because Daniel Jones. Not the company you want to be in after drafting a QB #1.

Too much inside pressure ruins a passing game. Let’s see if things improve with one guard spot solidified when Corbett returns.
