There is no point in which you should say "no" to a good value, season over or not. Every transaction is about value. Moreover, if the goal is to ultimately give Bryce Young a legit weapon to aid in his development, there are worse ideas.

Who is giving up a WR worth their salt right now?  The trade deadline is just over a week away.  Heck, we haven't even thrown in the towel at 0-6 and teams that theoretically still have a chance--even as long shots are going to trade their top WR?  Com'on man, really? I get having "ideas", but then there's also reality.

I never said that a WR1 will be out there that I'm willing to pay for (I actually said the opposite), but if an opportunity arises to get Bryce some help, and it provides good value---the key point, then we can't dismiss it out of hand just because our season is over.

We need to give up on this season pretty soon. If you worry about the rookie, then bench him. This is the reality of being on the worst team in the NFL. It's gonna suck.

You don't bench him. He needs all the seasoning that he can get. Benching him would probably be the worst thing that we could do

100% agree. Let him get the reps. But for fug's sake make it as easy on him as possible. Tailor the offense to him. Stop taking all these square pegs and hammering them into round holes.

We aren't good. Do fuging better.

Stop the nonsense about trading for a #1 WR. Nobody of that caliber available and the Raiders already said Adams is not getting traded.

Go for Tee Higgins in FA and hope for the best. This team is more than a WR away. We have holes on both sides of the ball. Guys we are the worst team in the NFL. Once that sinks in your head you will stop making these Madden proposals for players who's not going to change our outcome.

Burns haters you guys are pathetic. Grow up.

CamWhoaaCam has spoken and that's the end of it k. Enjoy your Sunday.

Nope, that ship has sailed.  I was PLEADING that we do that prior to the Vikings game when Byrce was coming off a bum ankle.  Perfect time for a mini-benching with excuse built in.  Nah, we are going to straight 'David Carr' him (yes, I used a person as a verb) in crap-tacular fashion.  Giving Bryce one extra JAG WR isn't going to move the needle one iota. That's my point that is lost on some folks, trading for a mediocre dude, while better than Mingo and TMJ, isn't going to accomplish much except further deplete our limited draft capital and add to unnecessarily to our cap overhead while giving the staff that one extra stupid reason to keep Bryce out there.

I would like Tee Higgins as well. I dont hate Burns but he isnt worth what he wants so I couldnt care less if we trade him or not. If we could obtain even one first rounder for Burns I say bye bye Brian

I am not advocating for putting him on ice but I am against making dumb dumb trade moves to salvage something that isn't a thing.

Fine with trading Burns, but that's the last of our concerns right now. This team is bad on both sides of the ball. A couple of trades aren't going to help us at least not this year.

But such a trade would make the the team think it's worth while to keep beating it's head against a brick wall.   I was advocating for a benching, but now?  Nope, let this dumpster fire burn a raging inferno.

    • at some point, though, you just have to suck it up and accept it and deal with the bad deal you got.  you go through funks where you keep making mistakes and hope that you get it figured out sometime soon, but in the learning process you realize you could have done some things better but you're stuck with decisions you make. you have two choices...whine about it or just brush it off and hope can make the situation you put yourself work. i know a lot of people in here have probably never experienced or dealt with failure much in their lives, but i have and i learned to just suck it up and try to make the best of the situation you've got yourself in because you realize that you're stuck with it for a while. doesn't do any good to keep harping over what you wish you had done better. you already know that. now it's just about moving forward from here and making the best of it and hoping you can make something of it. it's the easiest thing in the world to look at where Bryce falls short...and yes, that was intentional. everyone knows that and all that is done is beating that horse laying on the ground. what takes some work is trying to see how it can work and if they have done and are doing things to help the situation get better.
    • I completely agree. Guys like David Carr and Darnold have all the potential in the world but really could have benefited from sitting for a few years.
    • I will go to my grave thinking that some qbs simply need to sit for a spell and not start immediately and that having multiple head coaches and oc's in the first few years is a sure fire way to ruin a qb.  Having to learn new schemes, new terminology etc while having to learn to lead in the nfl is simply too much for the majority of qbs.  I know it sucks for the fans but look at KC situation.  That had a great vet mentor to mahoomes and simply let him learn with absolutely no pressure in his rookie year.  Not sure why more teams are not following that model.
