No BS...it's obvious you guys think the Colts will beat the Saints...tell me why?

No BS responses, I know you all think we are dumb swamp rats...blah blah blah

Why do you guys really feel so strongly the Colts will destroy us?

I personally think we lose, but cover the spread. But all the posts I've seen on here sound like we will get killed.

I think we have a better running game, and can possibly play the ball possession game with them; thus keeping it close. Brees nor Peyton will make mistakes so neither side will have a ton of turnovers (Bush can be the X factor either way, with big plays or fumbles). Peyton will get his; he will throw from anywhere from 280 to 320 yards the question is can we hold them to field goals. That being said, Brees will throw for similar yardage.

I don't think our D can lock them down, but am hoping so. So let me have it, why will the Colts win?

I think that with Freeney out or all gimped up, it will be close. I don't think that the Saints will get blown out, but Peyton is just too damn good. Plus Caldwell & Co have had plenty of time to gameplan around Freeney's injury which helps big time. If he went down 1st quarter, that'd be a tough adjustment on the fly.

Their Defense is better than yours.

Manning has beaten Defenses that are way better than yours.

Agreed, our D is average at best.

But can't you say the same about Brees?

I actually think the Saints win.

Colts defense isn't great, and saints will be able to run the ball keeping manning off the field

it's the only chance we have...Manning will not pull a Favre and cough it up

peyton manning is the reason. he is the best QB in the game and can win games all by himself. he is at his smartest right now and has enough talent around him to get the job done. the defense may be weakened but so is the saints. saints might be able to score a lot but peyton and the colts can score a lot more when they need to.

when your DC's best strategy is to injure the opposing QB then that will tell you something. that is the best and only real hope the saints have. i have little doubt that they are hoping for that to happen soon in the game and they probably won't care that they will forever have an asterisk by their name if they do knock peyton out of the game.

lucky for the saints, the colts want to win it legitimately.

Manning actually has a history of not playing that well in the playoffs so I don't know he will be dominant by any means. On the other hand he has been there before and Bress has not. With all the hype that the saints have to win for the city and after 40 yuears of trying, it places alot of pressure on them.

In the end defense and turnovers will make the difference. I think Brees actually has a history of thrwing the ball up more than Manning and expecting the receivers to get it. So the secondaries will be heavily tested. The Saints do have a better running game but i don't think it will play a big part in the game unless the score is low. If there is a scoring fest then passing will rule the day.

I give the slight edge to Indy due to experience and not giving up big plays averaging surrendering only 10 points a game on defense in the playoffs.

      He is a great guy but a horrible reporter. He makes my skin crawl when I hear his name. I heard that babies cry and dogs attack him when he enters a room. Other than that he is a good dude. Now go burn in hades u sum bit.

      The job just really passed him by. He came up when basically you just needed to get three or four quotes, toss a couple of team provided stats in there, and stretch it out to column length. you got your copy in by 330, out the door by 4, then chill/shmooze the rest of the day. If you were really good you got a book deal. Every now and then you got to write an editorial. The goal of the profession was like Peter King where ostensibly you’re a beat writer for whomever but you get paid to just shoot the poo. now it’s a 24 hour job, you’ve gotta be social media savvy, the pace has increased substantially, you’re expected to produce more than ever, you gotta be able to look through bullshit etc. there’s still risk of industry capture where you just become a mouth piece. Sheena Quick is obviously shameless. I don’t think Newton ever aspired to be more than an inoffensive beat writer, but even that relatively simple role was just more than he was cut out for. its even worse when you’re covering a team that expects the Fourth Estate to act as a PR extension, or considers them on par with buying Twitter bots to promote Bryce. there were over thirty papers that covered the panthers first training camp. In that environment there’s room for boring guys like newton, and they may even be incentivized to push the boundary a little. But today that just isn’t the case and most of the guys are hanging on until retirement (person, gantt) or they’re good and gonna be matched up like Jordan. im not defending the current state of sports journalism, just saying that what counts as a meat and potatoes beat writer passed newton by. He’s retiring well past his sell by date, but that’s pretty common for his generation in general.
