Oh they aren't-- I think Tepper wants to, and it's why they brought in a guy like Thomas Brown.  But Frank's offense is not really blendable with the McVay/Shanahan stuff.  That's kind of the problem for me.

It's a clash of philosophies and they don't have anyone, really anyone at all that can stretch the field vertically while the horizontal stretching is rendered useless without the presnap motions and misdirects.

Mishmash disaster.

And what I think gets lost is that Frank verbalizes they want to do all this stuff, but in reality, his own architecture doesn't allow for it to happen.  He's inside zone, triangle, trap, mesh all day.  And he's living a contradiction as a coach right now and knows it.  He's trapped because the roster also doesn't allow for it to happen.

And meanwhile, we have a QB who should ideally fit in the modern spread/stretch zone.  Annnnd Meanwhile, the fans are looking at last year thinking "Why can't we just do that!"

It's a mess of wants, needs, all of the above.

Which makes no sense when you come in saying your plan is to tailor the schemes to the players

What kind of system do you think Bryce and this cast of characters would be any better in

Bryce is an obvious West Coast quarterback. You're not gonna put him in a Coryell.

His OL are not WCO type linemen though (they're big, road grader types). Neither are his receivers suited to this attack (need speedy "run after catch type guys mostly some other at least one deep throat wouldn't be a bad idea.

So maybe, just maybe he should have never been the pick. Honestly Richardson probably fit the oline the best

This front office hired Frank Reich to coach their team.  The front office then drafted Bryce Young.  They moved in a new direction.  There is nothing about any they did that aligns with a road grading 3 yard and a cloud of dust offense.  Frank and Bryce were never going to be part of that type offense.

In the ultimate mental gymnastics to defend Scott Fitterer, it's Frank's fault for not running Steve Wilks offense.   Well, Scott should of made sure Steve Wilks was hired then.

this all goes back to this past offseason when I explained to you why they needed to fire trash Scott Fitterer.  You need the GM and HC on the same page, same timetable, etc. Clearly, these two aren't on the same page.  Talent never matched what the O was going to be. Which was discussed very often this offseason.  From the OL, to the RBs to the WRs.   This was not the talent needed given what we would be.   And you can probably add the QB into that too.  It's not a Frank Reich QB.  It's all a predictable bad marriage.

Actually, the "mental gymnastics" is when you try to blame front office people for coaching mistakes.

The OL was already built, and Reich had no issue with it (nor should he have). Deciding to use them against their skill set was a baffling decision, but that's not the fault of anyone in the front office.

I get that you want an excuse to fire everybody because that's your thing (and it might actually happen) but blaming scheme problems on personnel people is a pretty good sign of having no idea what you're talking about.

They just traded up to #1 overall, gave up 2 first and DJ Moore for Bryce Young.   He is the player you are supposed to dictate things around.

they failed spectacularly at that.  That’s your boy Fitt.  And it was obvious coming in. He does the talent.  And he did nothing for a Frank/Bryce O. And now you are attempting to argue Frank is at fault for not being Steve Wilks.

lol, I have bashed Frank for months for his coaching faults.  Weekly event for me here.  That a poor argument you are attempting  to manifest.  I’m making excuses for Frank lol.

I just bash your boy Fitt for his faults too….and they are many.  You still too fixated on not being wrong about Fitt.  I mean you are wrong.   You just can’t accept it.  He is a bad GM.   But that’s whatever at this late stage.

I got zero interesting in your Fitt defense at this point or hearing about how he hasn’t been horrible….per your created version of behind the scene events that only you are allowed to assume about

There are valid criticisms to be had with Frank, but you demonstrated with your ridiculously weak attempt at explaining what a Reich offense was that you had no clue what they were. Largely the same deal with Fitterer.

What's even funnier though is that I put out a pretty clear indictment of where the coaching issues were weeks ago and have even expanded on it since. But instead of talking about that you're trying to use it to bash the front office.

You don't get it. I wouldn't bet that you're going to.

Me too but I'm just saying from a power run stand point. Keeping foreman and adding Richardson with our oline would probably have made the most sense

Wasn't a fan of Richardson because he's not as accurate a passer as Stroud. The nickname "ball placement machine" is a true one. He'd have been ideal.

Turns out Richardson isn't very durable either but nobody really saw that coming.

Its insane how he wants to defend both fitt and reich.  Utterly insane.  I mean the proof is literally right in front of you but he just does his usual poo instead of simply saying "I was wrong".
