Sad News about a Fellow Huddler

It is with great sadness that I need to inform you all about the passing of Clifton Jacobs, also known as Electro. As some of you know, Clifton has been very ill for quite some time. On Friday, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The illness, along with other challenges he was facing, was just too much for him to cope with and sadly, he took his own life on Sunday.

He loved Panthers football and he loved this message board. Football brought him great joy and "passion". He loved all of you and enjoyed stirring the pot. In fact, he was "passionate" yesterday as he scolded me for saying I wanted the Saints to win!

His family requested I notify his Panther friends. The details of a service have not been made yet, but Crumpler Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton, NC will be handling the arrangements.

Please keep his family in your prayers. If you want more information, feel free to contact me via email at [email protected].

Thank you,

Leslie Thompson

I will miss him dearly. He is my life and I dont know how Im suppose to live without him. I love him with all my heart. I talked to him right before it all happened. This is so heartbreaking for me. We spent his last few hours just holding each other. This is the hardest thing I have to deal with. I am so lost.

    • If you don't have a definitive answer at the QB spot, keep turning over rocks. These guys know that there are no guarantees and you have to constantly earn your position, or at least you should unless you're a HoF caliber. There's always someone trying to take your spot.  Even if you have your guy, you keep looking to develop the next one in case a season/career ending injury occurs or the contract impedes your ability to build a complete roster.  Qb, blindside tackle, and to a degree center are the 3 offensive positions that need to always be working on a plan B strategy.
    • This is what scares me most this year IMO. I think the defense can be Top 10. But unless Brooks breaks out AND we get some OL health luck, I don't know if we're anything other than a meh rushing team at best.  Chuba ain't scaring anybody. Take away Rico's few weeks of monster games and make them average, and our rushing stats last year are bottom third of the league.  Hell, we already are in the bottom half even with Rico's crazy stretch.  Idzik calling plays being a difference and/or Bryce magically becoming a different QB are the only hopes we have I think. I think this offense could be downright bad, despite a defense giving them 2nd chances or short fields.
