Sorry but his stats are too damn good to say he's the luckiest QB in the league. He plays a big part in their success. He throws a great pass.

Miles Sanders was the NFL's 5th leading rusher last year. System and situation can play a huge role. It's playing a huge role for Purdy. The folks who think Bryce would be doing the same in SF are coping but Purdy in Carolina would not have anyone talking about Purdy as a franchise QB.

Is there a better RB/WR/WR/TE foursome in the league around a QB?   Probably best LT in the NFL taking care of him.  Then you got one of the best play callers in the NFL as the maestro.

Purdy doesn’t suck.  But almost any competent NFL QB that can play the full field is going to look like a Pro Bowler in SF right now IMO

And the Eagles were fading him out down the stretch last year because he wasn’t actually a good RB.  That OL was getting him rushing yards and he was really bad last year in a lot of aspects that don’t show up on the stat sheet.  Which was my #1 off season rant.

    • Plenty of teams are QB desperate so someone will probably roll massive dice on Willis and give him a legit franchise QB contract but that's insane. He hasn't done anything that warrants anything more than signing a short term prove it deal and being offered a fair chance to compete for a starting job in camp. Signing up for any commitment level beyond that would be crazy.
    • I don't know that he is a pro bowler but I think he has earned the right to compete for a starting job. I think if he were in this draft he's the number 2 QB behind Mendoza. And his tools are better than Mendoza in terms of arm mobility. That said Mendoza is far more advanced as a passer. I think if I'm one of those QB needy teams that needs a starter this season like are we saying he isn't better than Sanders? I think we are asking is he better than Kyler? I know he's better than Fields. And at this stage in his career he's better than Rodgers. So the idea that he won't start somewhere to me next year I can't see it
    • Maybe that's because we don't have a good tight end? I don't think anyone we have at tight end warrants the kind of attention Sadiq would. Like talent wise he's on a different planet than probably all our tightens combined
