Cromartie Anyone?

HELL no. Gamble/Marshall are both better than Cromartie. You know why? Cromartie is bitch that is afraid of making contact. He's one of those players who instead of making contact to break up a pass, he'll use his athleticism to try and make a highlight reel pick. While he makes the occasional big play, he gives up so many, I don't want that.

Here are some pictures to show how afraid Cromartie is to make contact..

^that's him being afraid to make a tackle and giving up a touchdown run that gave Jets a 2 score lead.

^that's him being afraid to push the pile, giving Jets a first down and essentially securing the game.

He is fast, can jump high, and is one of the most athletic CB's in the league, but none of that matters if he is afraid to DO HIS JOB and make tackles. No thanks at him being a Panther.

While I agree, it is quite possible he did not push the pile in the case that the runner broke free and he was to stop a long run. I doubt it, but it's possible.

Those two "videos" are concrete proof that he is not needed. Nice post.

the thing is though, it didn't matter if he broke out a long run. that run was on 4th and 1, with less than 2 minutes left and Chargers were out of timeouts. It was either stop that 1 yard run or the game was over, and he was too much of a coward to help.

I know, hence why I said I doubted it. :P

Was just suggesting an alternative theory.

Yeah I understand what you were saying. If this were just a one time thing where he didn't join in and try to make a tackle then it wouldn't be a big deal, but some Charger fan friends I know say he has been doing it ALL YEAR. Giving up big plays so he could go for a high light reel play. I don't want a player like that anywhere near a Panthers uniform.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
