NFL Coach/GM Updates

I wonder with theses GM/HC hires how attached are the coordinator positions?  I like the idea of Vrabel in regards to a leader and culture builder (like Wilks), but I want to know how he plans to innovate on his current style.  Frank leaned on his past success and showed a clear lack of growth/innovation. When Frank was hired, I really don't think Thomas Brown was THE plan since Frank was so insistent on calling plays.  Additionally, I feel Evero was forced onto Frank's staff.  (In this case, it worked out)

Do veteran retreads really hold an advantage in filling out a staff?  Do some of the young up and coming have an advantage because they are networking to fill out future staffs?

The GM hire to me, is the most important hire.  Let the HMFIC be the HMFIC.  I'd leave a blank check for Brandt Tilis or Nick Matteo, and let them build from there.  Chiefs and Ravens have been two of the most sustainable teams over the past 15 years.  I'd stay away from all things Eagles right now.  Picking from Detroit is not a bad idea, but I think the combination of Campbell and Johnson is the glue for that team.  Interesting to see what happens when you remove one from the other.

The advantage to guys that have been around a while is they've got a lot of good connections.

That doesn't guarantee they'll hire a good staff of course, but it helps.

Can you imagine the Chaos if Mike Tomlin is also let go.

Harbaugh/BB/Carroll/Tomlin surely we can get one of the 4 right?

Harbaugh or Tomlin for me.

idk what the fascination with BB/Carroll is at this point of their careers. Atleast with a young coordinator you have the *chance* that you found a long term solution.

Can't wait til this dude hires another Boomer retread. That will be the final nail in the coffin for this club.

he wont. Tepper goes extremes. College coach who never has sniffed the NFL to retread NFL coach who has been around for 30 years. I'm fully expecting a WNBA assistant coach to get the job

    • Everybody made too much of that. The CBA and the 17 game schedule is what kills the cohesion we see in teams across the league in the opening games.  You decide, look at your depth and make informed decisions there or you get a an extra quarter or whatever two quarters with your ones.  Teams that are set don’t have those openings as much down the roster to evaluate but that ain’t everybody. It is a quandary. I think they need that 4th preseason game back. But as I said, I don’t lay that as the excuse for Bryce to come out looking like he does to start seasons. He has an entire camp.
    • Hey I said the 1pm west coast team, I said the up down up down and we were due for the up week.  You can’t know what is going to happen. There was a guy that detailed why the league would engineer a Panthers win to bring LA Rams back to the pack in conference standings.  Who really knows, and how much real belief do you have when citing these things? I generally have as much as my superstition allows. It rarely rises to an emotional experience. Usually it is more analytical. In terms of interest. When crazy poo happens and we win a game like today I for sure enjoy it.  I mean you have to think about it, how many times do you connect 2 4th and short situations for TDs? Who does that? That is like the most embarrassing thing for the Rams’ defense lol. That never happens and should never happen.  Expecting it to happen might not be a good plan. But it was pretty great
