If tepper doesn’t even talk to him then I will be bummed.   Nothing hurts from an informal discussion

Exactly. Especially after reports from last year when he called Tepper and then this year (whether it’s true or not we don’t know) when local radio host say he’s still interested but Tepper isn’t. Oh well, I shouldn’t be surprised by this.

Cam is better than Bryce. Damn that really sucks because Cams arm is beyond shot.

we could of trotted out Cam Newton with a shot arm, pulled Greg Olsen from the booth on a bum foot and had Joe Brady calling plays.......and won more games than the 2024 team pulled off.

I mean, it's amazing how we keep getting worse and worse at so many different aspects.

Buffalo is on a heater since joe Brady took over the offense. He was never the problem here

The Panthers will not have a winning season (talking more wins than losses) if David Tepper is involved with this franchise. That's just how it is. People can say they will be good if he completely steps back from football operations which is probably true. David Tepper will never step back from football operations if he owns that team. He may step back at first, and maybe we start the season great. The first time we lose one or two in a row he is right back in that locker room preaching about what they need to do to win next time. It's impossible for someone like him to step back.

We are the exact opposite of a good franchise. Look at the franchise Green Bay has. Look at how they do things. You NEED stability and planning ahead. When did they draft Love? 3 years ago I think? Even fans were pissed but they know better than the fans (unlike Tepper). They knew Roger's only had a certain amount of years left, and not very many. They didn't draft Love to take them to the championship that year, they did it to let him sit and learn behind one of the greats for 3 years. Tepper is Wall Street guy, all about the numbers (stats). He has no idea just how valuable it was for them to do that with Love. Probably thought it was a waste because he wasn't used for 3 years. You think Tepper has been on the court or field much in his life? He doesn't understand sports at all. He saw Bryce had good stats in college and high score on the test. Never took into account what his team consisted of.

Tepper is a Wall Street prick with a massive ego and temper nobody wants to be around. The thrown drink shows who he is as a person. He is completely clueless when it comes to the psychological aspects of sports. Does not understand how relationships in the locker room can have direct impact to results on the field. Knows nothing about the dynamics of team sports and how much impact the attitudes/behaviors of those in charge have on the quality of play from the team. And his ego is so overinflated that the possibility of him "stepping back from football operations" is a big fat 0% chance. This will not be a winning team until David Tepper is no longer owner. Just take a look at the final win/loss records for each year in order since Tepper bought the team. He is a cancer to the Carolina Panthers that is way past treating. He has ruined this franchise and cannot fix it himself.

Coaching hires are always a momentum swing. If we sign Johnson he won’t do anything here. He’s riding the coattails of a lions team that bought into the HC.

Last years squad bought into Wilks. He won the hearts of the team and had the momentum to make a statement as HC this year. Wilks here in Carolina is a different Wilks elsewhere.

You get it. I never see anyone with this mindset. Wilks is not the same coach as he is here. What he did last year with the state that team was in was nothing short of amazing. Not giving him a shot this year was criminal. Not giving him a shot this year and instead hiring a coach who was fired mid-season last year was...something Tepper would do. You had to give Wilks a chance to fail. At least 2-3 years. Tepper is too stupid to understand it may take a year or two to get the machine running right. He is literally too stupid to see that far ahead. He has the mind of a child, hence why he did not think of the consequence of throwing a drink on a opposing fan. Definition of a spoiled brat. Wilks was done wrong.

The longer they keep sending Young out the worse it will get.

Well stated................in the final analysis, like so many from his world; they have succeeded within the personal dynamics that are needed to survive and thrive at the cost of arresting the development of their social skills and interactions with humans.

Tepper is essentially a self made wealthy person within society who has the emotional social skills of a junior high school bully.

    • Um, no, just no. Bills, Chiefs, Chargers, Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Eagles, Commanders are 8 teams that it's not even a debate, they aren't trading their QB for Purdy. Patriots, Broncos, Titans, Giants, Bears, Vikings, Falcons are 7 more teams with QBs drafted in the last 2 years that also would rather stick with them than trade for Purdy as they all have more upside than he does. Lions, Packers, Cowboys, Bucs are 4 more that would likely keep their QB's as well, age aside for Goff, Dak, and Baker. Panthers and Colts are two teams in the same situation, QB's who have both struggled and shown flashes to where the teams probably stick with them because they drafted them, but in a re-draft of all QB's, they probably take Purdy over the guy they currently have. Jags, Cardinals, Dolphins, are 3 more with QB's who probably have a higher upside than Purdy but come with their own question marks, so debatable if they'd take Purdy over who they already have. That leaves Jets, Raiders, Steelers, Browns, Saints, Seahawks, and Rams. Rams would take him over Stafford for the future of course, but not for 2025, and I'd think the Seahawks would take him over Darnold, but honestly not sure if they would take him over Milroe at this moment as they really like his potential and have him for 4 years really cheap. That leaves 5 teams that I see who would absolutely take him over their current situation right now, and a handful of others who MIGHT take him over their current guy, a far cry from your 20.
    • Agreed. Also as soon as they received the top pick in the next draft it was over. Bears won that trade. Gave up a top overall pick got one the next year plus pick 9, a couple 2nds, and DJ Moore a proven young WR. Had their 2024 pick from us be in the late teens or later it would be more debatable IMO.
    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
