Goodwin and Gilbert are not bad. They're good technicians.

Ideally we'd have guys who weren't 32nd in rushing though?

Goodwin succeeded Russ Grimm in Pittsburgh, didn't he?

Seems to have had a long association with Bruce Arians that I imagine started there.

I'm not looking for greatness out of our assistant coaches anymore. These are NFL coaches-- not college guys like Rhule, and not vaunted up and comers like Reich. Let's just hire some solid to average coaches and let our young HC build something with guys who know him.

Keep the defensive staff intact and we're good.

Yep. Arians moved up from WR and Grimm left.  To be fair Goodwin is listed as a third tier assistant in 07-09, not line coach.

Great point

Last year we had too many assistant coaches who all had HC aspirations and each wanted to be given the credit for fixing the Panthers and developing Byce Young.

I posted Frazier was on the team site still, at 7:30, and a few minutes later he was fired... Odd

John Lilly, Evero, and the defense are still there, with Canales

I think speculation was Nate Carroll was gonna take the QB coach spot.

Haven't seen as much former Seahawk influence as some expected so far.

I think it speaks volumes for how well Dave Canales was thought of in Tampa by seeing him be able to bring some of these solid veteran coaches with him. They must know that without Canales Todd Bowles will go back to being on the hot seat like he was before the start of last season.

    • I think i like the Oregon Safety better
    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
