A Case For Being Optimistic.

lol so many of these people who are muddling up the board with doom and gloom right now are the same guys who just last year enforced their point with an iron fist about "SUPPORTING YOUR TEAM" and "BEING OPTIMISTIC", and there was the prevailing feeling that Jake was going to bounce back by these same people, so nobody should take their current bitching seriously

And they are the same ones who were bitching that Fox stays with aging vets for too long.

I imagine Brayton played on many more first and second downs than Johnson did though.

i don't feel like going and checking but the breakdown of passing/rushing plays are like this...

johnson: 175 rushing/ 264 passing. dropped back into coverage 11 times. 3 pass deflections.

brayton: 329 rushing/ 381 passing. dropped back into coverage 8 times. 1 pass deflection.

What site did you find these stats on? I wondered how the breakdown worked out.

rofl "muddling"????? "iron fist"?????? I do support the Panthers. I'm just not expecting playoffs this year. And yes, I always hope any player doing poorly will bounce back. I don't decide the line up. I'll do the same thing this year. Who do you think will be the first player you throw under the bus? :frown2:

And you were one of those whining and harassing that John Fox was the absolute worst coach in the world, couldn't do anything right (or, really, like you would do it) and Hurney was an idiot. And never thought the players themselves should shoulder any blame for poor play (except of course Peppers & Delhomme).

Now posters are expecting Fox & Hurney to save the day and saying that it is up to the players to step up and - OMG - act like grown men. What I said all last year.

I really don't understand all the posters, you included, who last year claimed they expected nothing short of playoffs and that you can complain if you want, are now accepting possible average as okay. :icon_bs:

So I guess we're back to the basic argument again, a year later. How the fug do you think it's okay for you to complain but not anyone who doesn't agree with you? stfu

It's only true. Panthers55 was defending Jake till the bitter end whenever anyone doubted him last offseason. Now that his boy is gone, he's all doom and gloom. I can't tell you how many times he's been wrong.

The only significant loss we've had is Peppers. But we also have a first rounder in his spot that has alot of promise. Brayton is a move I didnt agree with, but we have Johnson who is better and younger and put up similar numbers in his limited amount of playing time. Kemo was just a fat guy that basically was only good for staying in his place and nothing else. Lewis was nothing special. Leonard and Tank will be a huge upgrade. They both impressed me last year in the small time that they played. I remember Leonard blowing up the guy in front of him on his first ever play with us.

Diggs is another move I didnt agree with, but Connor or Anderson could easily start in his spot and we wont miss a beat. The only other move I didnt agree with is Hoover. However we did draft one of the best FBs in last years draft. But really if loosing a FB on your team is the main reason why someone has lost all hope for the season, that person should just give up football all together and watch some other sport.

Guys like Beason who are rallying the team and saying we are still going to be good despite the losses are why Im glad we have him on our team and don't have guys like Panthers55 who would continuously bitch because we got rid of some old timers.

And what have you been right about other than Jake sucked which I agreed with. You can't tell me how many times because other than expecting Jake to play better, I haven't been wrong then and am not now. I am not doom or gloom just being realistic and asking the questions you guys should be asking. I am listening to the guys who know what they are talking about and passing it along. I have read no one but posters on here saying things will be better this fall. I have simply voiced concerns than any reasonable person should be asking. I am simply providing some cautionary comments about changes that I believe are more rooted in NFL politics and going cheap than making a determined attempt to actual improve the team.

I would agree that I am very concerned with all the changes and don't think it is a radical view to do so. What you call whining and bitching is more accurately evaluating the moves we have made and correctly pointing out that we have certainly been heavy on subtraction and almost non-existent on addition. While for the hundred time I repeat that things aren't decided by any means, but using new or old math, subtracting more than you are adding always results in a negative result.

Personally insulting me won't change the reality of the situation since this isn't about you or I but the extreme moves the Panthers have made and those they have failed yet to make.

Honestly Killer, do you even read the posts? You quote me, don't address anything I said, and go attack-mode on p55. Geesh!

No, it's not true. No one could ever be any more doom-n-gloom than you were last year. :P
