Id take 6 wins with bryce progressing and call it a season.  4 wins and still struggling to score would be a problem

I for one am not interested in him doing just enough to appease Tepper and earn a second contract and all of the sudden we're stuck with 8 years of watching a game manager bottleneck our team to mediocrity

Earlier this year, before free agency, when our opponents were published, I saw our ceiling as two games. Granted, the disaster of a season and Bryce were still fresh. Now, I still can't reasonably say that we will win much more than that. I would like to think so, but I certainly wouldn't bet the farm on it. Until I see Morgan draft, Canales coach, and Bryce improve, my expectations aren't moving past three or four games.

The fact that Canales is head coaching for the first time and calling plays for the second time with a new team is really flying under the radar. His head must be spinning, from the pressers he basically admits it already

Which is another reason why some may want to dial those expectations back. I mean, I and others tried to tell people last year about setting unrealistically high expectations.

Crapping for cooper 2026   I’m here for it

Not winning for Nico 2026 (Tennessee QB is getting some hype). Sucking for Sanders 2025. That QB at Florida looks legit, but he will be a true freshman this year. You should check him out if you haven’t yet. DJ Lagway.

Tanking is a concept that perpetual basement dwelling fanbases talk about because they have no other hope and the draft is their favorite time of the year.

The competitive teams know tanking is a ridiculous concept because the truth is you don't even necessarily need high draft picks to acquire talent that fits your scheme. The better teams in the league are still stacking quality players in the middle and late in the draft while teams like the Panthets are drafting long snappers and leaving olinemen on the board.

We're hoping Dan Morgan is a breath of fresh air but you also can't just wipe the slate clean because he was heavily involved in many of the failed draft picks and acquisitions the last few years.

I have no ill will toward any other panthers fans for navigating this their own way. Nothing wrong with being glass half full. Nothing wrong with being glass half empty either. There's no need for us to police each others reactions though. The Panthers ownership created this mess. That energy should be directed there.

I respect and appreciate the Hell out of this post! It should bring perspective to our interactions on this site. Sometimes it's easy to forget that some people are pessimists and some people are optimists. Neither is better or worse than the other, but they are very different character traits - polar opposites even. Just like introverts vs extroverts. But it's difficult to understand the perspective of a person that doesn't fall into your spectrum. Let's remain open minded to those that have different opinions, because their ideas could be coming from a completely different mental make up. They see what you see. They just see it differently. Thank you for this.

It's wild how much the college qb trajectory changes year by year. Especially now with NIL and transfer portal, some random kid in d2 or d3 can blow it up out of nowhere. I think it's for the better despite the dinosaur SEC coaches throwing fits about the changes

Im surprised Manning didnt transfer this year when ewers came back.  Kid had some sick throws at the spring game and could probably get 2 years starting at another school and then enter the draft.  As it stands now he is #2 on the depth chart and unless something happens in his year 3 he will only have 1 year of starts.  He could always come back for his 4rth year but that doesnt seem to be the trend

Canales basically said he wants him to be a game manager, and regarding shotgun/pistol, Bryce still takes an additional slow ass 5 steps out of that so he can actually see the field. Also not being under center takes away a lot of run game/play action possibilities which makes everything easier on the opposing defense. It's a major uphill battle just to game plan on offense throwing out I'd imagine 1/3rd of the average playbook any normal sized qb could pull off

If the problem was unfixable, I see it as a real problem.  I have yet to hear an issue that could not be corrected with some reps and a good coach.  So we shall see.  Would I pick Bryce Young if we could do it over again?  He'd probably be my third or fourth choice, to be honest, but he has been successful when the pieces were around him.  Canales plans to do that.  Will it be enough?  Not sure.  Nobody is, which is the point.

It is hard to win an argument when the people on the Huddle never act as if they know more than they do or overreact in any way.  If only I were blessed with such omnipotence! (Just kidding--I enjoy the banter).

he is hopping in the pocket to see over the line, how do you fix that when he has been doing it since at least alabama?   He has had elite coaching since 8th grade and his issues are still there.

The issue is literally his size and strength, which he apparently can't improve upon first glimpses of him showing up to voluntary workouts. They can try to fix his footwork but as soon as there are 5 6'5" guys in his face that's gonna be out the window and he'll revert back to what got him to this level in the first place which worked in college but did not last year facing grown men

    • JJ Jansen will be 62 and still our long snapper then as well.
    • I really feel like they are a 4-6 win team. The draft really didn’t change that for me. It’s a growth year. I don’t think we are getting many wins but I think we are going to develop guys the right way and have a team to surround our new QB with if this one can’t figure his poo out.
