Looks like Guentzel is gone and will sign with Tampa for the offer the canes gave him minus the extra year

Tampa looks to be 7 for $9M versus Carolina's 8 for 8 deal. Florida has the better offer with no state taxes, but they're old and not a realistic shot at the Cup any time soon.

We`re just the same ol Canes. Just when we thought we had scoring help, it goes away. On the other hand, our pp didnt do poo in the playoffs and we were a different team overall. Looks like no Cup in sight for this team as we keep doing the same sh!t over and over hoping for a different result. I think there is a term for that.

Good news is this clears the way to bring necas and Skjei back while also making a solid run at Stamkos.  Honestly, if we do that then it’s really not that big of a drop off. It’s arguably the same if not a little better.  Stamkos would solve a 2nd line center problem we have and Jarvis will be even better. I would argue Jarvis will be better than AHO in a year.

Instant offense. A leader and someone that can run a power play. Too me, this makes too much sense.  Guentzel to Tampa and Stammer comes to Carolina.

Necas is gone, unless they are going to put him on the second line at center.

    • They will be if they extend Young but I don't think we're there just yet. Morgan and Canales are tied and I don't believe Tepper is going to go look for a new front office for Bryce as things stand.
    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
