Why would it be a rookie when we already have a young guy in Cantwell who has been here a full year? And if you think Cantwell doesn't have what it takes, then what's the point of having two very inexperienced guys backing up a quarterback who has yet to start a full season?

I think if we do indeed bring on someone like Lewis, it will probably mean Cantwell is out the door. But we do seem to hold on to these "project" quarterbacks for years.

Don't know what Cantwell did to earn so much confidence but considering he has proved next to nothing I wouldn't just assume he is here because of one year of experience. His situation reminds me or Brett Basanez (is that how you spell it) looks good in preseason but will probably never stick.

I like Canfield because of how similar he and Moore are. From the school they went to, to there strengths (size, mobility, killer on the bootleg, and above average arm and accuracy). In time I think he could come right in if Moore was to go down and our O would be able to be relativity the same.

But Cantwell has more experience than anyone in the draft. ;)

Now, he may not have the same ability as others -- and it's for that reason I could see them throwing him on the practice squad in favor of someone else. I just don't think any rookie should really be backing Moore up, so I don't see the point in having two rookies behind him -- especially two undrafted rookies (though I realize undrafted quarterbacks are the norm on this team).

Expierence in the system maybe but he was on the PS for most of the season. I really think the most likely scenario is we pick up a vet that gets cut prior to the draft.
