this notion that a center cannot step in as a rookie is pure fallacy

I understand the concerns with it.  It's a lot to expect a rookie to understand all the nuances of the protection adjustments and whatnot.  While at the same time adjusting to the speed of the NFL game and blocking NFL linemen.

If they thought Corbett could be good enough, that's fair.  But, why not bring in a kid to back him up and potentially play if he gets injured or is awful?

Well we are stuck and have to pin hopes on Corbett.

If Zavala is playing at Guard what can you run? He is horrible. So the guy behind him on the depth chart steps in? It’s hard to be worse I guess.

Otherwise, with the protections you’d have to think the TEs and RBs are drawn up to help on the edge or wherever.. and I really am not seeing it but haven’t seen any good film of padded 11 on 11. Long range twitter vision.

Has Raym taken any reps? Part of the problem is they need Corbett to take as many reps as possible which hurts the depth imo

They really pushed all their chips to the middle of the table on a dude that posted a 47.9 PFF score last year.

Y’all should be coaches. You can already tell how these players are going to do in the regular season.

We’ve seen some of them though.

Edit: that said, I expect Mike Sanders to have a better year.

Don't forget about Shi Smith.

Clowney has had some injury issues too. Isn’t Wonnum (who is hurt) a gamecock? It’s random but kind of crazy. Debo can’t stay healthy either although he isn’t a Panther.

That’s pretty crazy. Hopefully Corbett figures it out and we all will forget about this, but a solid plan B should be in place. Maybe they make a waiver claim on one that gets cut?

    • If Hubbard does not want bank breaking money, I would absolutely resign him again but he has been through quite a losing culture here since he was drafted so I fear may not want to resign with this team. I can't blame him or fault him if he does not as unless I absolutely loved Charlotte and had to live here I would want to expand my world and see if I could get with an organization where they have more culture of winning consistency and potentially a more stable environment already set-up where they may be just a good running back away from competing for the playoffs etc.
    • Do that deal but instead of the 7th give them Bryce
    • Don't really love any of these dudes  I'd wait until 2026 to draft a qb unless you're just picking up a flyer on one of these guys listed in R5- R7 or something.  Whole team is too talented deprived to be reaching for QBs of questionable ability to translate to the NFL at this point. I'd be pissed drafting any of them in R1. That let's me know either Canales, Morgan, Tepperr, or all 3 of them have not learned their lesson and are desperately grasping for a quick cure all again.  At least not having to trade up for the qb would make it more tolerable. But imo, you use it on a can't miss player. If we have pick 1 2 or 3 , you can basically draft the unanimous #1 offensive or defensive players in the draft at almost any position.  Game breaking WR to grow with Legette and Diontae. Game breaking edge to bring the defense back from the dead!!  Superb corner to pair with Jaycee to make a shut down secondary unit . fug these qbs
