The 2nd tweet is kind of what I was thinking.  I'm all for throwing picks in practice.  Be aggressive see if you can squeeze in tight coverage.  Let you weapons get a chance.  Beats the hell out of check downs/conservative throws.

Woa there. That's homer talk that the red blooded Panthers fans don't take kindly to!

I'm all for Bryce Young or anyone taking shots downfield but he's displayed some of the same terrible field vision particularly in the middle of the field and to the outside that resulted in instances like this last season.

Yeah. I agree with this sentiment. Practice is not where you play conservatively. It's where you test yourself and your team mates. Can I fit that pass in? Who's gonna make a play for me when I'm in trouble? For WRs and RBs - try a new move, try a one handed catch. That's what practice is for - and you get better and build confidence. Now, if you start doing it in games and it ain't working...

    • KP is not a straight up carbon copy but they look awful close to me.  T
    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
