Panthers need to move on from Young ASAP

Was trying to look for some connections. Strangely, it looks like Dalton and Young are both represented by the same agency. I wonder if that increases their motivated to push to find Bryce a new home to compete.

Also, as far as the rumored trade partners- there isn't much CAA connection to any of the rumored teams. other than DK Metcalf and Jalin Hyatt sharing the same agency as Bryce.

Speculating- but I can see Dalton also being represented by CAA makes them want to push for a trade even harder.

If Lance can go for a 4th, you can probably get a 5th out of him. Also subjective to how much that team wants him.

I get the highly drafted QB bust comparison but that's it. Lance is big, fast with a strong arm. His physical attributes got a 4th. Bryce doesn't have any of those things.

That's my point though. Right now everyone is so high on the Panthers being the reason for his failure, if the offense starts improving that talking point erodes away.

I agree that it challenges the narrative that it's all because the team's bad. If the team doesn't look that bad with Dalton then was it really the team? However, one could still say but last season was so bad it shook him. That's probably true too. Why can't both things be true?

He also said he was the QB one day before benching him. Not like he could say "Yeah we're trying to but no ones interested"

Can't look desperate if you are hoping for a trade.

I thought Riddick hit it pretty good in this one.

I thought Riddick hit it pretty good in this one.

38 seconds in tells me he is full of poo and is spinning for clicks. You know how they say in court, where if they lie once you can assume they are lying always?

To me Riddick is doing a pretty spiteful thing I think, by putting those words in someone's mouth. Unless he knows that is true. Which I doubt.

An honest person would not have said that to Tepper, so he basically assaulting Canales. It is not Canales' fault that Young will not adhere to the the coaching he was obviously given.

And of course I am referring to that Buffalo series and the very noticeable footwork change. Evidence that he had the opportunity to be a better player but reverted to his wonky ass 'techniques'.

Because it is fuging hard not to. But that is still on Young for not getting that done. And unless he gets it done he is just a fraud. A wannabe NFL quarterback, playing at it. I mean NFL quarterbacks are kicking his ass, even the rookies.

If he works to change this steadily he may be able to get it ingrained in a couple more months. That is as optimistic as I can be for him.

Riddick though, I don't don't listen to sports talk any more except what youtube clips I like but I used to think pretty highly of him. This is pretty sad, to see this scapegoating.

I can put words into Canales mouth too: "Mr Tepper, I have a pretty good feel for working with these guys, and have had some luck with it. You know Baker pretty well. That's my work with him.  But I have to be honest, I'm not sure i can promise I can fix Bryce. He has many challenges. There are things we can do to help but so much of it is up to him. If he is willing to listen and work, I am sure we can make him a better QB. How good will be up to him."

blah blah blah blah

I gotta admit. This whole season so far has been way more of a hot topic than I thought it was gonna be. This team sucks and is still in the news more than anybody else. Far as the trade,  I'm going to agree. I think right now is the most you probably get for him....lets say dalton comes out and lights it up and even just completely rejuvenates the team. It will just confirm more that Bryce has been the problem and lower his value. Just a hypothetical but it might be smart to jump a trade now.

The offense is literally only missing a quarterback. The defense is lacking talent but we have one hole on offense right now and I think Dalton will prove that this weekend.

Yeah so I’m pretty sure his trade value just got cut in half today.

Need to get him out of here though. Every time I seen him today he was just moping around in the background like some random visitor.

Just like how he plays QB.

Little man had two very rude wakeup calls this week, busted his safe space all up. Let's give The Processor a chance to process that.

If they want him gone I wash my hands too, but I wouldn't do it for just bad play. Financials matter.

Depending on how it goes this year there may be a late season chance to try and showcase him for the offseason.

    • As bad as AR has been, the Panthers would’ve been better off right now, if they had stayed at #9 in 2023 and picked him instead of doing what they did.  At least this way, they would’ve only wasted one draft pick vs what they gave up to pick BY. And they would have kept the #1 pick in the 2024 draft.
    • I felt pretty good about us making progress this season, surprising some people, and getting some more wins than last season going into it.  Now, after preseason, my expectations are much, much lower. I was talking with my friend who is a Bears fan, and we were discussing their drubbing of the Bills and how people try to dismiss it as “preseason, so it doesn’t count.”  It absolutely counts.  Not the wins or losses.  No one really cares about that.  But what the Bears are doing shows that even in a vanilla, non-specific scheme, they are executing at an elite level and they are disciplined.  It shows they are well coached.  They see growth in their players.  Versus us - hard to tell what we’re looking at because everything is a fuging mess.  In games we’re still undisciplined, be it penalties or assignments.  We do NOT execute.  We got random coaches calling plays that won’t be calling plays during the season, we have our players getting into fights in the last padded practice of the preseason, then we have Bryce and Chuba trying to correct it while our coach sat off to the side laughing.  To be clear, I like Canales.  He seems like a good dude.  But, it feels like we have very little direction and discipline.  You’re allowing a team who has been historically bad the last almost decade, with a losing culture that mostly bereft of talent to self-police?  You’re allowing subordinates to work in pet projects at the expense of getting valuable reps and evaluation of players in during games?     My friend literally brought up last night that when Ben Johnson got there he essentially put DJ Moore in notice because it was starting to be perceived that he was displaying some diva-behavior.  That’s leadership.  And they’re reaping the benefits early and setting a tone.  My friend said there is an excitement and confidence in and around their team that’s he’s never felt his entire life.  And here we are, sounding and looking like The Bad News Bears in our final week of training camp and preseason.  I literally stopped watching after halftime last week.  I used to watch every play faithfully, even in 2001 and 2010.  It was fun.  This isn’t.  We are bad and our administration keeps making bad decisions to compound things.  Reading poo like this today is just fuging deflating.
