I dont take hurricanes lightly and have had some pretty big rows with folk who minimize them.

This is going to be brutal on the Fla coast.

Im exhausted by the weather people in the triad trying to scare everyone into believing this is going to be anything more than a bad storm.

And I didnt say apocalyptic. Ed Mathews did

So is this your definition of just another storm?

Just looking at the pictures it looks pretty significant.

*43 people dead from this storm so far...

In Greensboro, this was just another storm

They said earlier today that the dam at lake lure was going to collapse but it didnt

They canceled school in areas that just got rain

They preempted regular programming to scare people into thinking that a hurricane was going to hit High Piont but it didnt

Debby was worse but they wanted us to think this was going to be an apocalypse

You're not understanding that Im annoyed by the ramped up "the sky is falling" way they are treating this weather event.

This is why people dont believe weather forecasters when it really is going to be bad

So 43 people died as of right now and you think that wasn't a big deal?

Cold world!

43 in NC?  Someone should tell Roy Cooper he just said 3.

Youre doing exactly what I talking about

The hurricane is 1 system. Do you realize we weren't the only state affected?

A loss of life is always serious. 3 people died today because of this storm. That's a big deal. Asheville is literally flooded. People will be without power for multiple days. All this is a big deal.

Just because your area didn't get hit hard doesn't mean everyone else did.

Do you realize Im bitching about the way the weather team in my locality is reporting this?

I realize that.

Do you realize that's part of their job? It's better to expect the worst than not expect much. They just want people to be safe. I have no idea why you're so upset about that lol

Ive stated it quite clearly.

Im irritated over the hyperbolic coverage.  Im not worked over the national coverage or the coverage of the aftermath but the talk of the anticipated widespread devastation 500+ miles from where it came ashore and 100 miles from the path is ridiculous.

Who cares? You're not forced to watch them lol. I mean, better safe than sorry. Maybe them using scare tactics will keep morons off the roads. Big deal, it wasn't catastrophic like they said it would be. Isn't that a good thing?

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
