Taking on Watson contract if the compensation is right

I've listened to the Watson-Carolina idea from two or three people now (probably all originating from ESPN's Evan Cohen). OK, read the article and tell me what you think.

Not that I'm trying to influence your opinion, but I would scoff at a first and conditional first. I am not letting anything hinge upon Bryce Young's play. If they outright make it TWO FIRSTS  in 2025 and 2026, I'd think about it, but I'd have to look at the cap implications first. [Any cap-ologists want to give any insight?]

Holy poo. Imagine the agony of being a Browns fan of they did that.

The lesser of two evils. At least they'd have a nice young man to develop😉. They'd have to suffer two more years of Watson otherwise, while the team disintegrates into nothingness. Watson, by several metrics, is the worst starting QB in the NFL (not hyperbole).

He may not play here, but he will net us 3 first round picks and lamaleava or whatever the Tennessee dudes name is.

If we trade for Watson I'm selling my house and moving to Maryland so I can make the Ravens my official team.

I wouldn't touch that clown for 5 1st Rd picks.

The idea would be that since the Browns would still be paying his salary, he would be cut.

If that's the case, I would take that all day and yesterday.

This ain't Madden bro. This topic is a joke. Tepper actually went hard after this clown. Can you imagine if this dude was our QB right now.

Worst owner with the worst human being at QB. Oh yeah that duo would have went down in the history books as the worst tandem in sports history.

Someone has to get Tepper out of Charlotte.

I think the idea is the Panthers would be buying draft picks. They would not play or for that matter even have him on the team. But, yes if he played I am with you!

This is not realistic. It's something you do on Madden.

    • I never thought a second look was even necessary. I was begging the football gods not to have us trade up to the 1st pick. And damn once we did it was a thoroughbred vs a little pony.    If you have a perceived generational player in the pool and you have the 1st pick, you just don’t trade it. In the first place. But all this Bryce drama - which (understandably) takes over almost any thread, just like this one - would never have happened if the team was not sold to Tepper.
    • I agree. I understand why he did though. And surely he had his parents in his ear who have always gone out of their way to make sure he always had the best and the least amount of adversity around him to that point in his life advising him to do so. Where I take the most issue with it is when people who just want to be sycophants start listing off other QB's who didn't throw at the combine and you don't even make it through half the names before your eyes roll right into the back of your head realizing every single of those QB's who didn't throw already clearly showcased the necessary prerequisite physical talents needed for the position.
