Agree and my comment was why would he leave a sure thing if the money is comparable.  I don't think there will be a many teams that won't to pay him a big contract but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

If say the Panthers are offering 2 million per, and then a team like the cheifs or bills or houston offer the same.

Where is he signing?

The scenario could also be the Panthers or Browns or Giants.  The Panthers can't continue to let every good player leave for draft picks.

They can and should when the situation dictates it's the right move. They have one bad RB contract they meed to eat, just blew a 2nd on a guy who they rave about and adding another expensive RB contract is a bad move. The other 2 moves dictate it's the right call and they need to pray that Brooks if legit and also being in another RB once they dump Sanders. Also maybe if they didn't blow so much on OGs it would be an option but given the state of the D and the already committed cap it's 100% the right move to not pay Hubbard.

The problem was never about getting picks for players, except Moore and that stupid trade, it's the people picking the players. That can also be addressed and improved.

A RB is not a core player for any team. The core is qb, DE, LT and ILB that runs the defense. When you get those in place you build out from there.

We have 2 good guards and a DL member that are making bank here and that's all. We still do not have the core in place.

On top of all that our cap is a mess and they still do not have the core in place.

A LOT of dead money comes off the books next season. There is a real opportunity to build this team now. Players will come, but yes the Panthers will have to overpay them. Need to get that DE (or two) in FA next season, draft BPA (non QB) and then draft a QB in 2026.

    • You don’t even need 1b because Tepper is the only one foolish enough to wheel that deal.    Player wise? Jake’s elbow. JR and Pep getting sideways, no Carruth, Cam’s shoulder, Luke’s concussions, it would be a long list of stuff. You can take it down to certain plays in games. Fox chasing 2 point conversions in the SB would be on my list. RMJr slipping at the end of that same game was not helpful.
    • Ultimately this just amounts to heavy revisionist history. I mean you aren't talking to someone that just popped out the womb a week ago. I was here all throughout the predraft process. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase felt like this was a fine situation and the best situation for a rookie QB to go to compared to Houston for example. The hype for Young and our "rockstar" staff was off the charts. No one could dare speak cautious skepticism of his abilities or they would be neg repped into oblivion. Only after he had one of statistical worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years did we get this narrative now that his rookie season actually shouldn't count. Complete malarkey if you ask me.
    • On the field? Since I guess it qualifies as multiple instances it might not count, but have the damn refs throw some flags on illegal hits to Cam's head in SB50. If that doesn't count, 1A. Cotchery caught it 1B. Kasey keeps that kickoff inbounds. Off the field? 1A. Team is sold to anyone but Tepper 1B. We have the patience not to mortgage the franchise on that Bryce trade. Stroudwpuldve been the better pick but he's not worth it either.
